An absolutely delightful game! Keep up the good work!

This is one of the best city building games that there is, once you figure out how all the mechanics work to get your city to grow. I like how you are expected to play over and over again. I wish the buildings got bigger or something. maybe more variety with the types of residential buildings. It all just starts to look the same after a while. But regardless I still love the heck out of this game.

I have a few more hours of this game on GOG before realising that the developer hasn’t released any of the DLC or kept the game as up-to-date on there, so something to bear in mind if you have preferences around your platform of choice.

Urbek City is an interesting take on city building in that the game plays more like a puzzle game or a tile-placement game; buildings are placed which have different qualities which affect other buildings in a radius around them e.g. houses placed near a factory, which has the ‘pollution’ attribute, will develop into shanty towns. When placed near buildings that provide leisure and food services, they will evolve into nicer houses. This is the core gameplay mechanic which dictates how you plan your cities and what you have to work around, alongside balancing the production; consumption and storage of resources generated by those buildings (there’s no ‘money’ in the game, resources consist of things like food, wood, low-skill work etc.)

An interesting take on city building and good if you like puzzle games as well.
