Question .. is the game similar to Sim City style?
I know this is like "Orange vs Apple" comparison but just asking to get idea what game is like..

The game looks interesting and I love developing city with transports like Sim City games, Transport Tycoon, Railroad Tycoon and Railroads so on. So I have that itch.

Appreciate the responses in advance!

Sim City and Transport Tycoon are very different games, can you elaborate on what you are looking for?

In making Urbek I based it more on SimCity than Transport Tycoon (I loved that game though!), but unlike Simcity you have more resources, but there is no money, and there is mixed construction (commercial-residential), because it is more based on Latin American urbanism. Although it's very subtle.

I focused more on urbanism and organic growth, and not on traffic simulation, so the cars and pedestrians are just aesthetic.

Thank you for taking time to explain! That helps. Appreciate it! Agreed I love both Sim City and Transport Tycoon. Interesting no money? I wonder how that works... I suppose one way to find out right?! (heh) and...Just because you took your time to respond I am buying the game! ;-)

Cheers!

Thank you, I'll tell you then the reason or approach why there is no money in Urbek.

If you see society as a whole and self-sufficient or isolated (as Urbek is), money is meaningless on that scale. Since it has no one to sell or buy its things from, then even if Urbekites have money for their internal transactions, that amount of money does not matter for the success or failure of the society. What matters is only the resources (labour, materials and knowledge).

Thinking about other games, if the player controls only a few agents or one agent (empire or city hall), money does make sense.
