The game doesn't fit the screen properly
It's hard to play a game when the most basic features to play the game cannot be seen. Windowed or fullscreen, the basic features of the game are not available. What button am I clicking? Cancel policy? Is there additional information I can't see below. Like wtf man?

I have that too on my extended screen. It adjusts fine to my laptop window but not my attached monitor. Haven't been able to find a way to minimize or change. I don't think the option is built in yet. Might try a different computer or monitor to see if that works if that is an option for you.

Hi, we really need to know what video card you have and the screen resolution you are playing on if we are able to help. The game will not go below 800 screen height, so if you have a really small-screen laptop below that size, the games UI just isnt going to squash into that height as its a very UI-heavy game.

I'm having the same problem. My laptop is using an Intel 520 if that helps

I believe I'm also having the same issue, or a similar one. The game launches filling one screen and about half of the other, it appears to extend above as well about the same space it extends into the second, essentially giving me 2 thirds of the game window in my first screen.

Buttons are not where they should be, hovering over fullscreen in options does not highlight it as an option but I can get to click it if I move my mouse leftwards and down to where it would be if the game was in 1920x1080 as I had selected. I have not loaded into a game beyond the main menu as of yet due to this issue. I have attempted to put it to windowed, and other resolutions, and both simultaneously, neither has worked.

I am running the game on a 1920x1080 monitor, and apart from the few times I changed the resolution to try fixing it, that's what it's set to, both of my monitors are this size. I have a GTX 1060 6GB for GPU. If it's also relevant info, the main monitor is also set up to relay to a projector as well.

try to edit it manually, at => Documents/My Games/Democracy4/prefs.ini, i think there is resolution for games

BUT for now, the UI doesn't fit the resolution even though i change it manually

Massive problems with screen resolution. Full screen not truly fullscreen. 1920 by 1080 resolution looks really poor. Game very unstable.

PLEASE only type the same comment in a single thread. adding it to other threads just makes providing tech support a nightmare.
The game requires an 800 resolution height, and the UI simply will not fit in a smaller window. Almost all laptops and monitors now are larger than this, so we chose that as the bare minimum to support the game.

I found a solution! It might be very unstable or maybe I was lucky. I used a HDMI from my laptop to my TV screen, and instead of duplicating the screen, I extended it as two screens. Then, I launched the game, it opened wierd as usual. But, in Options, I could select to display it on wether Monitor 0 (Laptop) or Monitor 1 (TV screen). In my case, it did not matter which one I took, it always put it on my laptop. Then, I stopped to split my screen and I selected Duplicate instead. It worked... It might by a bit skecthy, but it worked.

Hi guys - i resolved this issue with advice from Cliff. I had the Scale in Windows Display Settings set to 150%. I reduced this back down to 125%, restarted Steam and launched the game. Full screen is now displaying correctly. Wonderful.

Okay, I found a fix for this. Running the game in windowed mode makes the UI scale properly to the resolution, which is unfortunate.

For my case, I have a 4K monitor. When I set the game's resolution to 4096 x 2160, the texts are quite small that its difficult to read. If I set the game's resolution to 1920 x 1080, the game will occupy only a portion of my whole screen with the same small text.
There are some games with UI scaling that I can adjust the size of the UI from the game's setting. I can't find that option in this game.
cliffski  [developer] Jun 24, 2021 @ 8:18am
Thats because we do not yet have that option in the game. we do plan on improving support for super-high resolutions in future though.

mee too,,,cant sett resolution in window mode.

Having issues too. Running the game at 1920x1080 (set by default by the game, it is the desktop resolution) the game is larger than the screen and the mouse position does not match UI element locations. Managed to get it to work at 1600x900, but it's a shame it doesn't run properly at desktop resolution.
Im running on a laptop connected to external monitor via HDMI, screen duplicating (both the external monitor and the laptop itself are native 1920x1080, GPU is a NVidia GTX 980M)
