Democracy 4 wont start the game

We'll need a bit more information than that if we have any hope in helping you.

Do you have any mods installed? If so it might be worth unsubscribing and clearing your
C:\Users\%USERPROFILE%\Documents\My Games\Democracy4\mods folder and trying again.

If it still doesn't work I suggest checking the files located here C:\Users\%USERPROFILE%\Documents\My Games\Democracy4\debug there is an obscure chance the files there or C:\Users\%USERPROFILE%\Documents\My Games\Democracy4\firstruncrash.txt it might have something helpful.

Assuming it doesn't give anything helpful...
Have you tried running the game directly C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Democracy 4\Democracy4.exe as an Admin?
Have you tried disabling your anti-virus software / checking that Democracy4 hasn't been blocked?
Have you checked your firewall isn't blocking Democracy4?
Have you tried reinstalling the game?

If none of that helps...
What is your OS?
Is your OS up to date?
Do you get any error messages?
Does the game immediately die?

It could be a mod that is causing issues try just temporarily renaming /my documents/my games/democracy4 as a test.

Just for reference Cliff the reason I suggested unsubscribing is because workshop mods that are subscribed to on Steam are stored at ...Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\1410710 (for whichever drive D4 is installed), only the .jpg files for the mod icon are stored in the root of my games\democracy4

Your suggestion to rename the folder is better than my over-engineered suggestion to clear the folder though haha.

Oh I have antivirus(Avast) cause to protect my computer against the most virus like hacking, cheating and etc. for not able to play democracy 4. I can still play without a mods before update. I feel unlucky after update

I have Avast too and it flags Democracy4 as malicious for me I think.
Just put it on the exceptions list dude you don't need to disable it outright.

Whenever the game (or any game, or any app) is updated, the profile of the code changes, so really really bad, awful, rubbish antivirus programs then do not recognize it, and block it, without bothering to tell you (the person who bought the software) what they are doing.

Software like this is borderline criminal it is so bad. FWIW I recommend using malwarebytes. I use the premium version. It NEVER silently block anything, always tells you and asks if you want to add it as an exclusion.

Norton antivirus is the worst software ever made, avast, McAfee etc are only slightly less bad....
