結論言うと、面白いです。

ただ折角搭載されてる前作説明が中途半端なので、もう少し説明があれば更に評価上がったろうな～と思えるゲームです。
ちょっとだけ興味を持たせて、過去作購入に繋げたいのかも？とも思いましたが、それでも説明不足です。

とりあえず、ザックリと過去三作の説明ですが、下記の内容を知っていれば4は十分楽しめるでしょう。

①ニューヨークから、あるヨーロッパの小国のブリキ工場を購入？だかに来た主人公ケイト・ウォーカーが天才技術者にして工場主のハンスに会いに来たが、ハンスが幻の島シベリア探しの冒険に出ているとの情報を得て、謎の天才技術者ハンスを探しにシベリアへ向かうと言うお話です。
ハンスがブリキ工場で開発していたAIと永久型記憶メモリー搭載ブリキ・ロボットのオスカーを運転士に迎え、これまた彼が発明したブリキとゼンマイ、スチームのハイブリット機関車で冒険に出るケイトの活躍が見所な作品になってます。
ハンスを見つけてエンディングになります。

②ハンスを見つけたケイトが、ハンスの夢である極北？だかにあるシベリアと言う幻の島に行って生きているマンモスに会うと言うのが目的な作品です。作中ハンスが死にそうになり、ブリキ・ロボットのオスカーはAIと永久型記憶メモリー搭載された自分の人工心臓をケイトに渡して、身体その物は瀕死状態のハンスの外骨格になります。（今で言う所のパワード・スーツ）
最後はマンモスと一緒に去るパワード・スーツを着込んだハンスを見守りながらエンディングを迎えます。

③ハンスを見送ったケイトがシベリア島から戻る途中で遭難してしまい、遊牧民の一団に助けられる所から物語が始まります。
遊牧民が辿り着いた街の病院に預けられたケイトと遊牧民の青年が悪の組織に狙われる事になり、遊牧民の目的地にあわせて一緒に逃げるケイトの逃避行を描いた作品になってます。途中で実は大量生産されていたオスカーの身体を見つけ、預けられていた人工心臓を移植する事によりオスカーが復活、最後の最後にケイトを逃がす為に破壊されケイトも悪の組織に捕まってしまう所でエンディングになります。（オスカーの心臓は無事）

上記の直後、オスカーの心臓を所持した状態で、強制労働施設に囚われたケイトは～で始まるのが今作の④です。

シリーズ通しでケイトを助けるAI搭載型ブリキ・ロボットであるオスカーの説明が前作説明動画は非常に弱いので、知らないとニヤリとできず面白さは半減するでしょう。（恐らく、誰コレ状態で作中情報で想像する事になります。）
その辺を押さえてからプレイすると十分楽しめると思います。


ま～完結までの年数が長かった事もあり、最新鋭ブリキ世界で繰り広げられるSF調な女性冒険物から、数奇な運命に翻弄された、ある女性の物語調になってる完結編なので、その辺は賛否両論でしょうね。
ちょっと話がデキすぎでないか？と思えなくもない展開ですが、オススメですよ。

個人的に待ちに待ったサイベリアの続編！
サイベリアシリーズはストーリー重視のアドベンチャーゲームでパズル要素は強くありません。
前作に比べてヒント機能が追加されていて、パズルが嫌いな人も安心してプレイできます。
グラフィックは格段に進化していて、カメラワークと音楽が相まってサイベリアの世界に没入できます。
ストーリーも素晴らしく、中盤～終盤にかけてドラマチックな展開が待っています。

ただ一つ残念なのが日本語訳の品質です。
前作と固有名詞が変わっていたり、口調や意訳など考えないと飲み込めないベルの酷さが散見されます。
内容が良かっただけに、この翻訳の酷さは「悔しい」の一言。
日本語が追加されただけ有難い話なんですが、サイベリアファンとしては今作から始める人に落胆してほしくないなぁと残念な気持ちです。

それでも素晴らしいので、ぜひプレイしてほしい作品です。
前作の1，2はグラフィックもろもろ古いですが、ストーリーのワクワク感は素晴らしいので、こちらもぜひプレイしてほしいです。

さわりだけやった感想。



世界観が面白い。オートマタと人間の共存の状態でいろいろなことが起きた話。

グラフィックがガチで綺麗。（i7 10700と3070 ですべて最大にして平均60-70％ほどの使用量）
映像技術はプロが作ったのかなと思うほどのレベル、まったりレトロな雰囲気を楽しみたい人はいいかも。

ストーリーは前後するので個人的には好きではない（急展開すぎる）が映画っぽいストーリーの進み方だなと個人的な感想

スローテンポのストーリーなので早く進めたい人には向かない。（かなりゆっくり）それぞれのキャラの話が恐ろしく長いことがある。
キャラの自由度は少ない。

追記

ストーリーが中盤ぐらいから面白くなってきました。
いくつかの謎解き要素が出てきたので面白い、がいちいち移動するのがめんどくさい。
というかめっちゃむずい。


追記　一応すべて終わらせた感想。

このシリーズを初めてプレイする人に向けてダイジェストムービーがあった。(過去作では重要なことはなにがあったのか)
私は今作デビューをした人間なので、その機能が親切でいいなと思った。またパズルは解けるか解けないかのギリギリを狙っていて、難し過ぎず簡単すぎるわけでもないので解けた時に楽しかった。
また続編がでたらプレイをしてみたい。

旅の終わり

結果を重視する、もしくは丸太を上着にしまうタイプのケイトウォーカーと
真鍮と鉄でできた融通の利かないオートマタで旅するアドベンチャーゲーム

何かで躓かなければ、13時間程度のボリューム
過去のMicroidsタイトルに比べると、ヒントシステムや
移動を短くするための工夫で、そこそこテンポよく進む
ポイントアンドクリックのアドベンチャーパートと会話、パズルのバランスも丁度いい

しかし、オートセーブのみ、チャプター選択が無くやり直しが効かない
カットシーンのスキップも無く、リプレイは少し辛い
回す操作や押して引く操作は(パッドならともかく)マウスにはフィットしていない

追記:Patch #1でチェックポイントセーブが追加された
ロードしたいチャプターを選ぶには下記フォルダのファイル操作が必要だが、取りこぼしを拾うのは楽になった

Syberiaシリーズは初でしたが、これまでのあらすじ動画もあり違和感無くプレイできました。
・良かった点
練られたストーリー、美麗な景色、適度な難易度の謎解き
・気になった点
移動時の操作性、オートセーブのみ、日本語訳に一部違和感
気になった点はありますが、良かった点が大きく上回っており、
おすすめできる素晴らしいゲームです。

Syberia - The World Before is an adventure game with a beautiful narrative and engaging story. It is a continuation of the Syberia series telling the story of Kate Walker for the fourth time. There is a pretty good chance that this is the last game of the series because the man responsible for writing the story is no longer among living. I must confess that this is the first game of the series that I played. I haven’t had a chance to play previous titles but I plan on fixing that mistake. I am giving this game a recommended rating, however, I do not completely agree with it. Something in between positive and negative would be more accurate. In my opinion there were some aspects of the game that heavily influenced it in a negative way.

When you launch the game, you will be greeted with a beautiful piano melody and Dana’s pleasing face in the main menu. It already creates a good vibe that’s gonna accompany you until the end. The game is narrated in a very beautiful way. The story is deep and will keep you engaged throughout the whole experience. The locations and graphics will surely take your breath away as they were made with attention to detail. The characters are well-written, explicit and likeable (with a few exceptions).

The team responsible for making this game put a lot of effort into making our first impression very strong. It worked on me. I was amazed by the experience that was presented to me and it made me wanna keep playing and discovering the story. There are two main characters and both ladies have very nice and charming personalities. You will absolutely love them both and will root for them the whole time.

This may sound absurd but in my opinion the worst aspect of this game is that it is an adventure game. Allow me to explain. Syberia series is known for being filled with puzzles. You can encounter them in basically every location. There is always something you have to do in order to be able to proceed with the story. It’s a bit forced in my opinion. The problem is that those puzzles get ridiculously difficult. They get so complex that you may spend literally hours trying to figure them out and fail. Even with a guide some puzzles were taking me half an hour to an hour to complete. So you get a little bit of story, a difficult puzzle, some more story and another puzzle. It basically looks like this and I don’t like it. I understand that there are people who love those puzzles and may even play the game for the sole purpose of solving the puzzles but I am not one of them. It affected my experience quite a lot.

What I also didn’t like was the camera. You have no control over it and it adjusts itself based on where your character is currently standing. I experienced a few bugs and glitches and they are all connected to the camera. Somebody did a pretty bad job there. I often found my character going in a completely different direction than the one I have been choosing for it to go to because I have been clicking on some invisible wall. Having experienced it once or twice, I would have ignored it but I had problems like this more often than I would want to.

In summary, this is an exceptional game that everyone should play for the story. I think that it is that good. The game gives a good vibe which accompanies you throughout the whole experience. The characters and locations also leave an enormous impression. Unfortunately, there are also aspects like the camera or forced absurdly difficult puzzles that take a lot of time to solve which can affect your experience in a negative way. Despite that, I would still recommend trying it for yourself. The things that were problems for me may not be for you.

シリーズは1と2をプレイ済みです。正直言うと、オススメしない寄りなんですが、これまでのシリーズの完結編ということでギリオススメにしておく次第です。

シリーズとしてはパズル・謎解きゲームにも分類されるのですが、今作のパズルはかなり単調で、RTを押しながら回す、LTを押しながら下に引っ張るといったQTEに少し毛が生えたようなものや、正解ルートがほぼ一直線であり、正直手応えはまったくありませんでした。

今回の作品の魅力は作り込まれた町並みや機械のデザイン、重厚な音楽、そして過去と今が密接に関わるストーリで、ある意味文学作品を目と音で楽しむようなゲームです。それらを理解してないとなかなかサムズアップできないと感じます。各ポイントを調べると数秒間流れるカットシーンや、ストーリ序盤の音楽広場のシーンで数分間見るだけのプレイに我慢できなかったら、即止めたほうがいいでしょう。

あとストーリーもまあまあ胸糞なところもあるので要注意。

  Update: I am five hours in, looking at everything slowly and savoring the beauty of it.
  Thus far it seems like 25 percent of it is observation and cinematography, very few puzzles thus far and they have been quite easy. I miss that amazing blouse she hid everything in!
  
  You probably played the demo and have seen and heard how beautiful the game is.
  
  There are two different timelines going on so it may take a moment to figure out what you are doing; stick with it, after the first bits it really does feel like a Syberia game.
  
  I have not run into any head-banging puzzles, but hey, its early days. :-)
  
  It does contain minor UI elements that I’m not fond of: Click and drag, click, and rotate; it is made with Unity. You’ve seen that before.
  
  I would much rather point and click that handle to open it, not rotate it too. That always feels like busy work to me.
  
  
  Other/Options:
  There is an auto-save system with well-placed checkpoints (thus far). There are second and third profile slots available.
  
  If you have not played the other games in the series, there is a “previously” button you can click to see some of our favorite moments from the series or refamiliarize yourself.
  
  There is a tutorial, and hints are available.
  
  You have a Journal that states your objective, holds your inventory, documents, and a diary.
  
  Think that’s it for now!

I didn't write a review for Syberia 3, I finished that game primarily out of respect for the creators who brought the first Syberia to life. While it wasn't THAT bad (the music is so memorable it carries the whole game), I wouldn't really recommend it. A few years later I was very surprised to learn that a new Syberia was in the works. I was honestly expecting only a slightly updated Syberia 3 and nothing more.

WelI, I can't remember the last time a developer took criticism so seriously, learned from every mistake and reworked the whole game. Syberia - The World Before is an order of magnitude better than Syberia 3. In fact, it easily matches the original Syberia, and even surpasses it at times. The story takes a new turn, and we finally don't have to chase the Yukols anymore. Thankfully, the automatons are still there, albeit a little more subdued this time. The story is captivating from start to finish, very emotional, a little bittersweet, just the way I like it. All of this is again accompanied by Inon Zur's wonderful score, which is so good that it takes the whole production to a new level. The 3D graphics have finally caught up to the fantastic hand painted backgrounds we had 20 years ago and at times it looks breathtaking. The character models are also much better and more detailed than in Syberia 3. The cutscenes are very well directed and enjoyable. Finally, there are no illogical puzzles in this game, which is commendable.

If you are a fan of the original Syberia, I highly recommend this game. I think you probably don't even need to play Syberia 2 and 3 to enjoy this one. I am very sorry that Benoît Sokal passed away during the making of this game, he would have been very proud of the final product. I hope the team delivers at least one more entry in the franchise.
