I consider SyberiaTWB a movie with some puzzles. There are emotional and surprising plot twist all the way to the end to keep one's interest and the puzzles are not so difficult so as to divert the player away from the story line.
There are some problems playing it on some PCs but there is help in the various Discussion sections. A new player might want to check out all the areas Steam provides for the game before you start.
I'll admit that I am biased but I think SyberiaTWB from Microids is a beautiful classic. I hope you enjoy it too!
I found this one played well just by the info the game gave you. Had no difficulty understanding the story (which I did before noticing there was a summary).
The main screen has something that shows you a summary of previous events. You might appreciate a few comments better if you played all of them - but that is it. Plus don't forget to read the diary of each player - shows you things that the game may not have displayed.
Anyway - I possibly played Syberia 1 a long time ago (so long that I don't remember it), didn't play the other ones until after this one.
I got them (and played them) because I liked this one.
