Any other adventure games I should play?
I just finished Syberia The World Before and yet again it's a bit of a cliff hanger. That's basically my only negative when it comes to these game. I love point and click adventures and Syberia delivers on it's story. I hope that even without the brillant Benoît Sokal a fifth Syberia will come, and finally give Kate a happy ending. I'm a sucker for happy endings.

Anyways, I was wondering if you all have any recommendations of other adventure games I could play that have a good story?

I agree with your sentiments and they could leave things open ended in a possible fifth game or just leave things open ended so to speak with what they've done in The World Before. From what I understand from various sources they have enough material left with them by Benoit Sokal himself before his passing to do a fifth or sixth game. I'm on the fence about wanting to see more adventures with Kate and Oscar because on the one hand I see what you mean to have a happy ending once and for all, but on the other hand I can't see Kate and Oscar as characters that would settle down to easily and want to go on more escapades with them myself. To each their own though.

Now for my recommendations for more adventure games I would say the Longest Journey franchise like The Longest Journey, Dreamfall, and Dreamfall Chapters. Also try out anything to do with the Myst franchise by Cyan. Also The Elder Scrolls might classify as adventure I mean half the time playing as an Elder Scrolls character depending on which game in the franchise you're playing you are exploring and adventuring after all. Also Fallout series.
Here are two adventure games that stand out because of different visuals and a good story, in addition to generally good puzzles:
The Journey Down
The Silent Age

We must have the same taste in games, I have played pretty much all of those lol. I will look into Dreamfall Chapters so thanks for that. :)

I will also vouch for The Longest Journey/Dreamfall series:

If you haven't already, you might want to try Sokal's other games, some of which are on Steam, those being:
Amerzone

Sinking Island

A similar type of game that I enjoyed (though has mixed reviews), I think French in origin (Sokal was Belgian), based on novels (Sokal was a comic artist) is Nikopol: Secrets of the Immortals. It's recommended to read the novels/watch the movie beforehand. Though, this also has a couple of short minor action parts, but it's mostly a P&C Adventure.

Another good but very strange one is Jules Verne's/Voyage: Journey to the Moon, but it's difficult to get running. I had the Steam version running some years ago, got about 3/4 through, then it wouldn't run and hasn't since. Even on a different system. Some people claim to have it running. If you're willing to jump put in the effort, it's an enjoyable and memorable game. You might have more luck on GOG. I dunno.

Some others you may like:

Dracula 1 through 5 (you want the GOG version - Steam versions are mobile ports and lack a lot of content - these games are quite good)

Black Mirror (1, 2 & 3; I don't yet know about the more recent reboot, but I'd give it the benefit of the doubt)
https://store.steampowered.com/bundle/8178/Black_Mirror_Franchise/

Yesterday and Yesterday: Origins (Madrid based studio. Games are a bit quirky, some dark humour and dark themes, though cartoony style. First one's great, second is pretty good.)

https://store.steampowered.com/app/465280/Yesterday_Origins/

Sherlock Holmes (The Awakened (2008), Nemesis, Sherlock Holmes vs Jack the Ripper, The Testament of Sherlock Holmes, Crimes and Punishments, The Devil's Daughter, Sherlock Holmes Chapter One (Reboot/Open World), The Awakened (Remake - 2023))

Agon (Mysterious Codex Trilogy, Lost Sword of Toledo)

Agatha Christie (ABC Murders, Hercule Poirot: The First Cases, Hercule Poirot: The London Case (has issues), Murder on the Orient Express (just released))

Still Life (Post Mortem, Still Life, Still Life 2 - Post Mortem plays a bit differently to the others, aged worse, and could probably be skipped, or not, as you prefer)

You might also keep an eye on the upcoming Tintin Reporter - Cigars of the Pharaoh

If you like detective adventure, Blacksad has a mature story with some decent gameplay.

Also in that category of anthropomorphic animal detectives...I highly recommend the terribly titled Chicken Police: Paint it Red! (Seriously, the awful name betrays an exceptional homage to hard-boiled noir thrillers with some of the best voice acting on the planet.)

I always recommend the three gabriel knight games, i havent seen any better in case of story and atmosphere yet (and the riddles especially at the first game are very clever and challenging too:)

SOMA, not point and click game but the narrative is unforgettable.
JC Apr 20, 2024 @ 11:55am
The longest journey
Blade runner
Dark eye of sativa
Shardlight
Blackwell series
Night of the rabbit

Not point and click but life is strange was great and i enjoyed Gone home. You can also check out deadlic and Wajet eye, they have a lot of adventures and a bunch i haven't played.

Oxenfree is also another that is strange and sort of a puzzle narrative and it added full mouse support which is great. If you like X-files you should enjoy this one. (there is music that starts out loud but lowers after about 5 mins if you keep moving through the area, don't worry you come back to the area so you won't miss anything. Some people find it annoying, but it lowers and becomes unnoticeable for the rest of the game.)

Those are off the top of my head, or check out my reviews i've played a lot and gave some synopses. Maybe some will pop as an interest for you.

Happy gaming!
