Nearly no fish?

Hello, i bought the game today, and in the tutorial i caught a couple of fish, all seemed good. then i went to do the Taylor's Tackle Academy Advanced class. I was fishing for about 1hour in the designated spot that the mission sent me to, and i caught only 3 fish in 1 hour and it wants me to catch 3 (or 5 can't remember) silver fish, but i'm still sitting at 0 and getting frustrated because it seems to be sooooo long before any fish bites. I have followed tutorials and guides on youtube and i'm playing on a controller, so i'm sure the techniques i'm using are good and how they should be. Is it normal to catch only 5 fish in an hour? I know in real life fishing takes time and you don't catch 15 fish per hour, But for a game i was expecting to at least catch some more stuff ? Wondering if it's normal, can anyone tell me? or do i need to refund my game and is this just not the game for me? I bought the game to catch fish, not to endlessly keep twitching, reeling in, or waiting without any bites.

I'd say pay attention to the size of your hooks relatively to where you are. You're not gonna catch a Perch on a size 1. I'd also say take a look around where other players are and that might show off some more lucrative spots.

That said, don't want you going over the hour threshold if you don't enjoy the game for a refund. This is just my two cents on what you could try.

Well yes i know that, but i was using the hook the tutorial/mission told me to, and still not catching alot.. i guess i'll try to switch hooks then.. but still annoys me that it's so hard to get anything to bite... other games are definately easier to get stuff to bite..

go to the Norway map,u will get better results there,I was the same as u guys, so went to Norway was lvl 12, now im lvl 87 best thing to do is find the free rod and reel its not a hard mission I have been playing for just over a month gl guys

Lol that means putting even more money into a game that isn't worth it, no thx. I couldnt refund it so its gonna stay in my library untill they make the game interesting, if no big changes come it's gonna keep sitting there but i'm not putting more money into it, in the meantime i'll stick with Fishing Planet, a way better game than this.

if you arent catching anything change bait or hook size. Check out the discord for very good guides for both hook and bait for all fish. There are lots and lots of fish

You gata keep trying different baits and hook sizes. If it was to easy it wouldn't be called fishing it would be called catching.

A year later I use every bit of gear and equipment possible traveling all over the map and still nothing so I guess the rng is just totally busted. Some people get lucky and some don't I guess so I'll be checking out that fishing planet mentioned instead

Be mindful that some tackle requires Technique such as poppers require Twitching. if you are unsure just hover over the Lure And it will tell you.

As others have said you've got to be prepared to try different, spots, methods, hook sizes and baits to catch. That is called fishing.

If your on the fish quests , just skip that one , and ACTIVATE another fish quest , go back to that one later . I know there a few tough ones , like the small mouth in the area they send you . I get it . Just move past it , grab it later . Just be sure to activate the quest your doing .

If you wasted your money on the other maps than golden ridge, your bad. Norway is the cream on top of all the maps.
Go to all the maps and do daily challenges and the weekly ones as well get extra bonus xps as well for the fish. Double your intake of xps.
That what I do most of the time and really don't chase legends because they locked those with upgrades which they should not.
Before I could buy decent gear(reels) for game coin, not now, so the game takes a back seat until I get bored doing other games.

why do people want everything for free, go and get the japan map you will get a bite every few seconds, this game needs more fish in every lake reserve map the reason people play and there is over 2800 fishing plant is that you dont get bored like this game and you only pay for what you want

It took me about 11 hours and 300 minnows to finally snag a diamond Black-Crappie. I fished the same spot for several days, But I knew eventually I would get that diamond.
