Wels catfish on lures
i've spent hours trying to catch some wels catfish with lures rigging big shads with big jug heads and not a single bite so far. i've tried it at the best spots, with jigging techniques but nothing. has somebody catch this fish with lures??

Whenever i fish for wels catfish i normally use bottom fishing with a hooksize #1/0 or #2/0 leeches or boilies. Don´t forget to throw baits like boilies or regular pellets. I tried jigging a few times and got 1 or 2 wels but it doesn´t work as good as bottom fishing.
Another aspect is if you´re using a large worm it will only fit with a jighead #2/0 - #4/0, so you´re not able to catch bronze ones. Sometimes you have to catch smaller ones in order to spawn bigger ones.

So, this means, that fishes always spawn back when one of them is taken out? They are not only created at the beginning of a session, or maybe once per e.g. (ingame) day?

Back in the days (past versions of the game) the water surface was much more clear (less ripples and reflections). When you caught a fish you could sometimes see another one spawning in, when you landed one.

i like way more lure fishing, but with catfish i fianlly decided to use bottom fishing as you say. it's a pity that this fish doesn't attack lures on the game because in real life you can catch them with big shads or even lipless crankbaits relatively easy in some scenarios.

I hope it is okay to post a video of mine in response as it will show you where and how I jig for them successfully.

I chummed with natural pellets, I dropped them straight down where I fished.

Good luck.
