bottom feeder = float fishing with no float
Is it just me or the bottom feeder is basically float fishing but with no float? When you fish for carp irl you can place a rodpod on the ground and use multiple rods. All other fishing games has this implemented, majority 3 rods (rf4, fisher online) but some even 4 (fishing planet).

I agree it's pretty lame.

It's a very difficult thing to balance in a fishing game, the realism vs fun factor. The bites can come quickly and with several rods out you would struggle to keep up, in real life fishing you could be using three rods but wait 24 hours for a bite. I would love to see the option of putting rod rests down but then also raises the question of baiting up areas. It's unusual in any fishing to be using a single hook bait in such vast waters.
In the majority of other fishing games you are also locked in to a much smaller area/map size due to the complexities. In fact in some of them you can't even walk from one swim to another. When you consider how large the maps are in this game with the ability to openly roam as you see fit outweighs the option of additional rods.
Horses for courses, I have yet to find a fishing game that ticks all the boxes and is still enjoyable to play. Seems to be very much a compromise.

Large map's are of little importance when the core game loop is mind-numbing.
