I'm simply stating that rod length effects the range of a cast, that lower gear ratios in game allow for a slower retrieve and that it has the longest cast range of all the rods but won't be suitable for 15kg+ fish.
the point is that rod length and gear ratios do make a difference in this game, unlike say Bassmaster 2022 where all rods and reels have the same characteristics despite having numbers that should differentiate the equipment.
if OP wants to setup a rod make sure to use at least 50 percent of the strength (weight) of the fish you plan on fighting, braid is always the best since its smaller diameter and will mean you get more line on the same reel and you will need more line since you are under powered and not able to fight the fish as effectively and risk being spooled.
do not try for anything over a silver lake trout on the Architect however for anything else its a really good rod because it has the greatest cast range (40m+) paired with 7.5kg braid line (I think 90m of line to work with) and is enough for everything else except maybe Goldstein... although I'd like to try to get him again using it but would involve risking snaps to try and stop his 2nd wind.
with the 5:1 ratio spinning reel you can actually reel on setting 1 and have the lure drop deeper in the water so you can begin reeling in right away instead of having to wait for it to sink, similar things can be done with reels and not pressing in the trigger all the way but its nice that you can just fully press it in and get the same results. all retrievals require some reeling besides jigging and the game does have analog reeling despite having speed settings (if on controller try pushing the trigger in only 10-15 percent and you will see that he keeps reeling) and the retrieval type still activates.
Also Navigator Alex, just because they are toy reels in a game doesn't mean the gear ratio effects nothing quite the opposite as it does have an effect just like non-toy reels irl would have. I'm not sure I understand your angle? like are you going out of your way to derail the conversation? I have my own issues and problems with the game but that doesn't mean that we can't talk about the game mechanics openly.
I dunno if you've ever played bassmaster but literally the stats page meant nothing for any of the equipment (bad game design) so arcade or not at least it does change something in game.
And I would really like to see rod characteristics play a bigger role in this game over time.
You seem like a child or possibly a Kid, Is that you baby soggy dipes ?
A larger hook will exclude some smaller fish but a small hook does not exclude a large one.
Spinning rod is your early game rod. It allows float fishing, baitcasting and jigging.
Feeder is for bottom fishing.
Baitcasting allows you to use lure and jigs only. The reason to use a baitcasting rod later on is because the top baitcasting rod allows for a stronger line than your spinning rod does.
That's pretty much it.
yeah pretty much summed up the whole game loop right there.
