Can't get Perch and Bluegill to bite?

I am trying to get the Diamond's Peak fishing challenges completed and can't seem to get a perch to bite let alone get the minimum required size to qualify. Any suggestions?

i had the same problems. It's all about carrying on and hoping that it will work out at some point. I find that the way the fish bite takes some getting used to. I've noticed this behavior in other fish species as well. the fish swim in front of me in the water but don't bite??? but something you can do is the following. there are tips and tricks in the steam community. which fish to which hook and bait. this is a complete guide for the game.
