I am undecided between this one and ultimate fishing simulator 2 releasing tomorrow with like 60 type of fish but honestly it's the game play that count.. I think I will wait for both to be properly reviewed to decide.

I will be waiting sometime after release to purchase, all the hush hush around the game has me very sceptical.

I believe the game will cost 29.99 USD and additional DLC (with new maps and fish) will be 5 USD each as released biannually if they follow the same pattern as theHunter. New maps will have a base population of "average local fish" like perch, berm, trout, etc with 2 or 3 feature fish species specific to that location. Also new gear such as rods, lures, character customisation, and vehicles will be released as part of the new map releases, or as a separate free/paid DLC.

I took part in the UFS2 demo and have nothing nice to say about it. The graphics look like it was made in 2015 (though the water physics look good). And it is so glitchy that I have stated multiple times to the devs that its almost a sin they plan to release a half baked product.

Fishing line clips through terrain, fish will bite any lure you throw at them (there is no specificity), the drag on the reels is atrocious and serves no purpose beyond allowing your line to snap.

I don't mean to kick a dead horse, and I really do wish the best for the dev team, but they are only trying to make a quick buck before theAngler releases and I can't respect that kind of behaviour from a company.

Interesting comments. I too played UFS2 and noticed the lures seemed to be too easy to catch anything, once I started catching Flounder, Sturgeon and Eels on surface lures I too became a bit sceptical. I shall await youtube vids and reviews.

Maybe the type of lake in the game, high mountain lakes that are clear, only support a certain number of species of fish? By the sound of it new species will be added by dlc, but I agree 12 is not much variety.

I hope all those 12 species are made perfect. Also I hope this is not an end. I hope all fish look like the real ones. No problem to add more.. real ones as well. I saw review of the UFS 2 and its terrible.

UFS 1 was fun for like 50 hours, and you get 40% off UFS2 if you own UFS1. It will cost 12$ which is a fair price even if it's just a mediocre game. Angler with 12 species and 30$ looks to be a worse deal so far imo.

You bet your ass you'll be paying for it. Let's not forget who the devs are.

Yeah but avalanche DLC is cheap. This wont be like RF4 or FP. They arent gonna give you stuff for free. Game developers need to eat.

Ultimate fishing simulator released today with over 60.... really makes me worried about the future DLC for this game. Will we be paying 5 dollars per new fish?
