Takes to long to get a bite.
When I get bored waiting for a bite, I will start playing UFS2 instead where bites come quicker.

If it's taking you too long, perhaps try changing the hook size/lure size and or bait.

I'm currently using #4 & #5 hooks. I would like to catch fish larger than 1-2 pounds. The fun scale is dropping.

I mean, I can help you, but I don't know what you're fishing with other than the size.

Float, hook & minnow.

If you're bait casting; switch to spinning: a #8 or #4 spinner, and then goto a dock or a pond and look around for fish in the water, cast past them and reel so the lure is on abit of a 'collision course' with where they are; bass, trout, pike, etc will definitely go FOR the lure; just make sure you're reeling at 1x speed.

In my experience, bites only take a long time when you aren't using the right equipment for the fish in the area. The same thing is in UFS2. If you don't have the right stuff, the fish that spawn won't be interested. You can see it all in action with the underwater cam that game has.

In this game the larger the hook the longer the wait.

I'm doing fine in UFS2 which is more fun than The Angler. I will wait until the Angler gets more fun to return.

I actually think the time for bite is perfect. If they make the fish bite too much than it will feel more arcade I think.

Also, sight fishing on here seems to be the best route - Look for action on the top of the water - Splashing, water breaks and bubbles (kinda like bubbles). These are location identifiers. You wont always see the fish that hit.... but those identifiers will put you in the right locations to begin fishing for sure. Then if no luck, change up baits, hook size and even techniques. Worst case, location.

Considering this game relies on arcade mechanics and fish bite almost instant on every cast no matter how you bait. But when it comes to float fishing it seems like something is not working correctly. I can catch fish all day with a #10, #8 and #5 hook. But anythink above that seems not to bite at all. Maybe it's just buggy like so much else in the game currently?!

Hey, if nothing bites, then just turn around and "kick" anyway ...

leave the place and make a round trip, enough space should offer the map. :P

Ps: man, because of you I missed a bite. ;D

True that some games where you get an almost systematic catch everytime you send a lure in don't feel realistic either...

First off, no. Fish bite is just fine.

Secondly, "I will go play UFS2" - hahahahahaa. PLEASE DO. Anyone who thinks that game is superior is brain damaged. It runs like a dog. Nothing it does can be better than The Angler due to how terribly the game runs.

Enjoy your headache and GTFO.

Stop rumbling on SoO <.!!! We don't need it.!
