Sauger fishing quest

What equipment is needed for a sauger fishing quest ?

since the patch i cant seem to get any Saugers to bite at all

6+ hours at the area they say to catch a sauger and not a single one. I've caught so many fish, but no sauger using minnow and medium tube lures using a variety of sizes from 8 to 5. I cannot abandon the quest. These teaching quests need A LOT of work. Very frustrating

Just started this, noticed they are more active at night, so that may be a factor.

FYI I caught one using leeches at the location and at night, no sign of them until the sun went down.

The first map challenge for the Ruby River is to catch a silver sauger.

As you may have noticed, the map challenges are usually much easier than the fishing quests, since they tend to spawn a lot more of the species of fish that you're trying to catch.

So, if you're stuck on the sauger fishing quest, you can jump ahead to the first map challenge for the Ruby River, and it will pretty much guide you to where there should be tons of sauger!

As far as bait goes, I used a minnow, and I kept it at a depth of 1.97 feet. Of course, you also have to fish for sauger at night!

Jump ahead to the first map challenge for the Ruby River. It will take you right to the sauger!

I really recommend the size 8 spinnerbait for every fish except mayby lake trout. Got a diamond sauger with a size 8 spinnerbait where the ruby river mission tells you to get a diamond sauger. (edit ->) They are more active at night. Read the fishes traits in the handbook.

I have the same issue except the suager will follow my lures and just swim behind them and never bite. Tried different lure and different sizes too.
The only thing I can catch them on is bait and float.

Spinnerbait Size 8 was working for me

I'm trying everything too, it seems saugers doesn't want to bite... 6h on the quest...
