YES YES YES an so much yes. God I am in love with this game.

I first started with Automata back in 2017 which was my first introduction to the NieR series and I fell into that rabbit hole. When that remake of Replicant came out I cannot say how happy I got. At first I was very *hm* about the story and unsure if I'd enjoy it just as much as I did with Automata and had a huge break between the first half of the game and actually finishing the first run. But I am going to be honest: the characters, the story, the messages. Everything grew on me so much and I will still bawl my eyes out over certain scenes.

Just storywise it's a game that just gets better and better for me with each playthrough. I did replay the second part of the game multiple times for obvious reasons but never really the first part. Now that I am back to the first part I am noticing SO MANY hints at everything and my mind gets blown every single time.

I cannot recommend this game enough. Honestly. It all builts together so well. The bossfights aren't hard (mind you I am playing on normal) but the suspense and music are what makes them great. It isn't supposed to be the most difficult ones but to tell a story and oh boy, they do.

Yoko Taro will say everything is meaningless then waste your meaningless time by making you play the sloppiest game of all time 5 times in a row to see a different 5 seconds ending cutscene. Truly the best shîtposter of all times, i can only applaude.

Still i highly recommend it as the fishing game included inside Nier Replicant is vastly superior to the actual game and not a waste of your time, no fishing games are a waste of time, in fact God created life so humans can experience the joys of digital fishing simulations.
