"There is one thing you can try to fix this: In your user profile folder, find your Walkabout Minigolf profile and delete the contents
of this folder C:\Users\\<Username>\AppData\LocalLow\Mighty Coconut\Walkabout Mini Golf\Profiles"
Worked for me, at least on the third try. In the end I started it directly out of my steam library without first opening SteamVR, not sure if that's relevant.
For what it's worth, it still seems to work via Steamlink rather than Meta Link. Although that came with its own issue (audio not working) which I however eventually fixed.
Yep.... Might be the death of Walkabout for my group of friends. Nothing has worked. And their "support" team has ignored multiple reports.
but workaround works :-)
No balls, no puters and no heavy levels available when entering the lobby the first time. But when returning from the first course, everything is available as usual.
Our team is looking into this more. I do appreciate people's reporting and for being flagged on it. Sorry you're having an issue with this and appreciate the patience. Like you'd mentioned, some users were able to troubleshoot out of this state; I've seen a few users with this issue this week that were able to roll back to a prior version of SteamVR, as SteamVR had an update last week very close to our update.
With how variable the devices, launch methods, and headset types can be for playing our game on Steam, it'll take time to collect information-- you can open a ticket through one of our official support forums (Discord, email wmgsupport@gmail.com) and send some base info we'll need in order to troubleshoot or get updates about the situation as we look further. (Device+specs, launch method, the behavior you're seeing ie: crash, error message, related.) Some users have been able to troubleshoot successfully, others not yet, which is why I recommended the 1-1 ticket.
I'm using Quest 2 with airlink to PC.
How do you roll back your Steam VR version?
Hello MrGiggles,
- go to the library and click on SteamVR
- click on the right side on the gear wheel icon and choose "Properties ..."
- click on betas in the left bar
- next to "Beta Participation" is a box, where you can choose between different releases
- I use at the moment "oculus_win7and8 - v1.15.12 ..."
I hope this helps.
