Stat Leveling/Building Advice
From advice given by a mysterious mentor in the first town while playing the demo it seems spreading yourself thin in terms of stats is a really bad idea, that you'll need to decide on a specific fighting style and then double-down on the related stats for victory.
But there's also various other circumstances outside combat where stats matter too, that you can't really know about beforehand.

Any advice on how to go about focusing stats? Suppose also a heads-up on which weapon/technique styles require which stats (looking at the achievements there does seem to be some sort of re-spec mechanic in the game, how easy is that to make use of?)

-Also: How important is putting points into Morality at character-creation over other stats? Are there much in the way of events early-on that need a high amount before you get the chance to gain it in other ways?

Highest early morality check I've seen so far is 10 a few hours into the game when I had raised it about 7 points if I had to guess and lowered it by 1 point. So I would say you want to start with at least 5 or 6 if going the nobler route.

What I want to know is how does someone raise Quimen in game, had a level 90 check for it earliesh in game when my highest character only had base 25 from level ups. Only seen 2 inner kung fu skills that level it up and they both required specific ethnic backgrounds to use.

One thing the game doesn't tell you directly. different sects/schools have different stat requirements. For example for fists there's strength/agi and morality fists. For sword there's agi and int. As such I recommend pressing G in game, look at the different category types and see what you wanna focus on.

I suggest you to keep a low moral (<5) in the first 3 areas to buy all the contraband and recruit some characters. Then raise it to 10 for a certain important characters and story (righteous path of course). Or keep it low (to 0 if you can) for the evil path. Following the story line will gain you a lot of moral points.
About other talent points: focus on STA for more skill slots, POW for higher level of skill, INT for less exp to level up skill (some skill required <5 for INT so build a base INT of 5 at the beginning of the game is very convenient since you can reset talent points later on). STRE vs AGI depend on the skill you pick (check the album for more info)

What Gege said, keep in mind that jumping back and forth on morale is not beneficial, there is a very specific path for that and it was in an old version, it needs far more understanding of the game and familiarity to all the little side quests to even get a handle on that. So start at 4 or 5, then get all the contraband.

For context, there are two sects at least so far, Taoist and Heng, that have requirements for high morale for some really amazing stuff, especially Heng Sect.
We're talking base 26 morale with +1 morale horse and 3 + morale traits for a total of 30.

I will not worry about INT as leveling itself is not hard, just a tad grindy, unless you specifically want for an INT requirement skill. Also plenty ways of gaining INT without stating. As for stat reset, keep in mind, you WILL not, get reset on things like INT if you gain them from quests. So if you are aiming for low int skills, avoid those INT stuff. However unlikely to do on first few playthroughs.

I did manage to recruit a certain mr Black who needed sub-10 morality, now I want to recruit someone else who needs 10+ (currently at 8). Just looking around for more ways to raise it where I currently am.

As for INT did notice there's been alot more ways to get free points of it from events/dialogue than other stats.

Got an idea where all the sellers are?
Found one in Jiangxia Port, JiaXing & Lin'an. Where else are they? can't seem to find more in any other port or city.
