I can't really speak for the devs but I think romances are an option based on the available achievements.

Hopefully that is the case.

Wuxia games often include an element of romance and companionship in their games so I hope that will be the case in this game too!

"4. Some storylines feature romantic confession plots❤, and the characters available for confession may differ slightly based on the protagonist's gender. However, for certain unconventional martial artists, gender norms may not be so rigid..."
