ripoff?
There's a mobile game called "SpinCraft" which very clearly cribbed a LOT from this game. I dunno if that's actionable or not, but so many of the symbols are exactly the same in multiple ways that it obviously isn't coincidental. (bees, flowers, sun; the fruit lady, lots of cats,) even though they did change some things, like it has zombies instead of cultists (and there's nothing I've seen that eats them,) and "potions" that destroy themselves instead of "capsules," plus some symbols have an extra merging mechanic. If nothing else it's interesting, definitely not something I expected to see.

I guess also, turnabout is fair play if you're looking for mod ideas; the merging thing could fit into this one pretty nicely and give some of the more useless symbols new life. ;)

Unless someone Patents a feature, it's not excluded from being used by another person, while the items may be similar, they are objectively not the same in how they look or were created, therefore Luck be a Landlord is not doing anything illegal at all

Example
Warner Brothers Patented the feature of their Nemesis Mechanic in Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor/War, therefore if anyone was to create a similar mechanic in their game regarding it, then it is indeed illegal

Another Example
Palworld & Pokemon dispute, while they took action to investigate the issue, multiple sources even from lawyers & attorneys that have overseen & have helped enlightening the public about has mentioned that no real infringements were made, unless an Asset, like models & designs were stolen from a source, then it would be an illegal action, but as it seems, they were created or hand crafted & not copied in such a way, therefore it is unlikely that action will be taken due to assets, but I suppose it also wouldn't exclude them if they find a loophole, but in a general sense, I think Palworld is clear for now & still remains on Steam

Good Luck & Have Fun :smiling:

You should probably reread the post. They seem to be accusing the other game of copying this one. But also suggest the devs could/should use some of their ideas as well.

No matter which way it's stated, neither game are doing anything wrong, I doubt the developers of Luck be a Landlord patented the feature to be exclusive to this game on its own, so no matter what, it works both ways, nothing is illegal here
