Red Dead Online

I can't change the game directory for RDO since I don't have RDR 2.
This is very weird and I have tried to google all over the place for a resolve but literally nothing works. I just bought a new M2 SSD and I wanted to have RDO on that drive, but I can't move its directory since there is just a yellow notice saying "Game folder can't be changed", when I'm checking through the Steamapps folder, there are only RDR2 folder can be found. Which mean if I'm understanding it right, I can't change RDO game directory if I'm not buying the whole RDR2 (cause RDO is located as RDR2 but since I don't have the original game I can't change the directory). This is really frustrating and confusing at the same time, I don't know why its working like that.

I've tried to move the game to the SSD through move/paste, then uninstalled it on Steam and hit Install again wishing that the game would give me the option to locate the game again, but no, its just showing the same yellow notice "Game folder can't be changed", then if I hit install, its gonna re-download the whole damn game on my HHD.

I'm really running out of options here... I don't want to clean re-install just for it to give me another notice of "Game folder can't be changed".

The game was uninstall on my computer and I had the same yellow "Game folder can't be changed" when I tryed to download/install it. I had to delete some file related to RDR 2 for steam to ask me which directory to install RDO.

here is the file I deleted to get a clean install from steam. These files are located in the SteamLibrary folder of the drive steam want you to install the game:
- steamapps/appmanifest_1174180.acf
- steamapps/temp/1174180

If anyone is still experiencing this issue and was not able to solve it with the above troubleshooting, try this:

1. Start the Rockstar Games Launcher
2. Select Settings
3. Select Account Information
4. Select Delete Local Profile

Talked to Rockstar after struggling to find a resolution for this for a few days and among a whole litany of unrelated troubleshooting, this particular gem resolved it straight away.
I've moved the game manually between drives by copy pasting several times. It really should work like that. Are you sure it was downloading whole game again and not just few files that weren't in the game directory, after which it would simply verify files? I don't remember details since it's been some time already, but it did work for me repeatedly for sure.

I too finally found success with this method! Just needed to close and reopen Steam after uninstalling the two files and boom was able to select whatever drive I wanted!

Saw some comments saying they still didn't know where these files are. Here's the standard filepath they might need to follow!
- Program Files (x86)/Steam/steamapps/etc.

Thanks for being awesome!
