The story-line for this game will never be finished (finding the last culprit in the gang that set you up).
I would also love to put money in a bank for interest at the risk that bank would be robbed and losing everything
If they'd come out cleanly and said "We're not making enough money on Red Dead, so we're ceasing active development and only maintaining from here on" I would have been sad but ultimately understood that that's how things go. It's that they're doing it in silence that I have a problem with.
But if they say that, they won't be able to con more people into buying despite being a dead game.
This is something i have an issue with too. They must feel that the release of such content isn't worth the effort somehow, but the thing is, that content wouldn't even require paying their employees for (and if it did it would be two or three people at most); since it exists already, it would merely be a tunable the programmer could "switch on" to allow players to drop some premium currency for.
Content such as story mode items, different breeds of horse, carriages or special clothing items... Outlaw Pass 1 was never released on PC and that was the only pass with horse masks iirc. Many folks wanted a shot at purchasing those but never got the chance to (and most likely never will). Why they retain their precious exclusivity when this games player count isn't the best i don't know. FOMO universally sucks, in marketing sense and gaming sense. If i cant get a desired skin even by paying a premium that to me is bad business, but it somehow works for the Fortnite model and other contemporary games.
It's been a year since anything new, and the stashes of gold accumulated by folks left playing le dead game must be pretty high. Maybe if people used the gold they've earned rather than opening their wallet for a microtransaction is another reason they don't?
