For those who also want to play the Story Mode after having the online part, it's available to buy within RDO for $40.

I have RDR2 on the Rockstar launcher. But the launcher is a pain under Linux. Considering i have the license on my RS account do you think my login would grant me it? I have RDRO through family share, although.
Your Rockstar version of RDR2 won't transfer over to the Steam's version of RDO, unfortunately. Games bought from different distributors (Epic, Steam, Rockstar Games) are considered separate.
To play Story Mode from the Steam RDO version you have through family share, you'd need to buy the Story Mode for that copy.
