Red Dead Redemption 2 is single player offline, and player use a default character from the game.
Red Dead Online is Online with the player's own character (male or female). Both games share the same map, but Red Dead Online has different missions that you can play solo or with others. They are two different games.

You mean the online part? Both online versions are the same.
Red Dead Redemption 2 includes Red Dead Online for $60.
Red Dead Online doesn't come with Red Dead Redemption 2 (single player story mode), but you can unlock it later for $40 if you chose.
