Report a translation problem
There's an option to turn the map on/off normally, but I think in your case, it has to do with being in the same lobby as cheaters. The software can cause this.
Try clearing your game's cache, then going into a private lobby.

Clearing your game's cache:
C:\Users\Your PC's Name\Documents\Rockstar Games\Red Dead Redemption 2\Settings
You can safely delete all files except "system.xml" (that's your video settings).
