Was your production full before you started your delivery?
... but I'd strongly recommend that you sell at your current max potential goods capacity, as the value of goods will increase based on how many you have when sold; at 25x goods or less, it's valued at $2.5/g (breaking even, essentially), but at 26-50x goods the value increases slightly to $3/g, then at 51-99x goods the value is increased to $4/g, and at 100 goods their value is $5/g. Plus, there's a 3x multiplier for a limited time (through April 28th, so you have ~1.5 weeks left), making the range of values $7.5-$15/g ... so you could go on 4 sale missions after reaching 25 goods and make only $750 total, or make 1 sale at 100 goods and earn $1500 (assuming "local" deliveries).
Edit; the starting value of goods is actually $2.5/g, not $2. Also, I'd keep an eye out for the "Trade Route" free-roam event (happens twice daily), as it's a relatively easy pain-free way to receive up-to 18 bonus goods ... so potentially a $270 value per event, this month.
+1 and good, detailed information. Like Evil mentioned, the trade bonus is like selling a wagon full of gold, really worth doing for new players or those who want to make a LUT of money 😊
