"Misunderstanding About Private Lobbies"
Engaging in the creation of private lobbies can result in a ban. Let me elaborate on this. Despite what some may believe, tampering with online files goes against the rules. I'm not here to spoil your fun, but rather to offer sound advice. Avoid creating private lobbies and, especially, refrain from misleading others by claiming it's safe or spreading misinformation on public forums. If you wish to enjoy a private game with friends, that's your business. However, avoid joining private lobbies shared in public forums like Steam; it's not a wise move.
Forming a posse is the key to playing with your friends online; resorting to modding the game is ludicrous, and I've never entertained the notion. While cheaters are a nuisance, I choose to uphold integrity by promptly reporting them instead of being drawn into their antics.

Frankly though, I don’t think they want to touch Red Dead Online anymore. Their focus is GTA6 now.

lol, here’s hoping GTA6 just supports private sessions like GTA5 did. It’s so bizarre RDO didn’t launch with that feature. :/

Then again, it’s also bizarre that RDO has no text chat option, or ability to vote-skip repetitive cut-scenes. This poor game feels like a “step-down.” :(

What are you basing this on, insider info directly from those involved with the game? Or random threads you partly saw but didn't see the full picture of or one you were a part of under a different alias?

I like to think that there are lots of smart people in this forum who can see through miss-information, and the two awards I see given indicate that well 😊💖

It's important to understand things correctly to form accurate information, and to do that, judging a book by its cover is probably one of the worst things to do.

So you didn't base this on insider info directly from those involved with the game, lets get that part clear. Then info tells me it's based on a random thread about game bugs and a ban. That ban was directly related to violating Steam discussion rules for argumentative/combative/derailing of the discussion. It has nothing to do with private lobbies.

Steam staff have jobs they need to do, and they need to show that they are doing them, which I totally understand.

Steam has rules that are meant to keep discussions civilized. While the discussion in that thread seem it wouldn't even make a 12 year old feel bad or prevent returning with more logical reasoning, apparently it made tough/smart-talking people run to steam staff. When people talk, I expect them to walk the talk.

Regarding private lobbies, I believe those who have bought the game deserve to play and enjoy their game solo or with their friends without disruption from others that isn't designed by the game, with the exception of some people -- those ones just like to shoot themselves in the foot.

For those looking to do play, you have a private lobby option linked below. It's not my video; it's just a video people don't need to spend half of their life watching to get to the actual part. Enjoy your game, continue being smart. The universe is a powerful, complex place 😊

"Solo lobby in 60 seconds"
https://youtu.be/OFd2af8wINE?si=f5qcNYF335d5Y_lQ

The issue with the video you shared is that it violates the terms of service and could result in a ban. I've mentioned this before, but I want to emphasize it again. Using a private lobby constitutes cheating because it deviates from the intended gameplay. While some may view it lightly, utilizing a private lobby means you're not engaging with the game as it's meant to be played, essentially giving yourself an unfair advantage.

The rationale behind this is straightforward. By creating a private lobby devoid of competition, you can freely develop your character without any risk. However, this undermines the integrity of the game. If you later transition to regular lobbies, you've essentially gained an unfair advantage through this method. It doesn't require an expert to understand this.
I specifically asked Rockstar support about using this and here is their reply: (It took about 7 or 8 replies by email to get someone to specifically answer my question and for some reason it was moved to GTA online cheats department.

Thank you for contacting Rockstar Support.

Thank you for asking whether you will be banned or relegated to the cheater pool for using single player PC mods. Our primary enforcement focus is on protecting GTA Online against modifications that could give players an unfair advantage, disrupt gameplay, or cause griefing. It also bears mentioning that because game mods are unauthorized, they may be broken by technical updates, cause instability, or affect your game in other unforeseen ways.

Best regards,

So. since playing in a private lobby does not give you an unfair advantage, disrupt gameplay, or cause griefing, you won't be breaking any rules. You will be at a disadvantage because you won't be able to some content (like free roam events), but you will avoid being interrupted by unstable lobbies caused be actual mods other players are using. I've experienced one game crash in the 3 months I've been using the private lobby and everything else has worked as intended. In the 3 months I played before that, I was lucky to play 15 minutes without a crash, had to put up with seeing random animals on fire, being drawn with everybody else into one area where we all die, wagons not working, the stable not working, missions not working, etc...

If constantly dealing with that is fun to you, then have a blast. I miss the genuine pvp aspects the game was intended to provide, but it was to the point where I couldn't advance some of the roles because everything was so messed up. It was either private lobby or some other game.

Sadly, dealing with Rockstar support is almost futile. They use Zendesk and it's obvious that a majority of support is AI with token responses to tickets with key words in them. If you have an actual question, you have about a one in 10 chance a human will read it and respond to your question.

Finally, the private lobby method shown in the video is not technically a "mod." How much different is using that than this helpful tip from Rockstar support when I was describing all the problems the game was having in public lobbies:

-----------------------------------------------
Navigate to Documents/Rockstar Games/Red Dead Redemption 2/Settings
Open the file systems.xml in Notepad and scroll down until you find this section: <advanceGraphics>
In the line <API>kSettingAPI_Vulkan</API>, change Vulkan to DX12
In the folder Documents\Rockstar Games\Red Dead Redemption 2\Settings, delete every file that starts with sga_
Examples include: sga_vulkan_final_init.vkPipelineCacheHeaderWindows or sga_vulkan_final_init.vkWarmupCacheWindows (if they appear)
Launch Red Dead Redemption 2
------------------------------------------------

Above was a suggested fix by Rockstar. Is that a mod?

Use the Meta file ROZEDUKE use the Meta file.

There are plenty of opportunity for that there.

you wont be banned for private lobbies, its not hurting anybody at all. Considering the fact that for years on end the same players are cheating and absolutely nothing is being done.

Reporting players is dangerous in fact. These reports can be intercepted by the players in question and you can then become a target. Some players have a fail safe, in which you report them, you will instantly be kicked from the game.

For anyone who doesn't already know, you can sort of get yourself a public solo if you go to your task manager, then go to resource monitor and right click on rdr2 and suspend it for about 5 seconds and then resume, it'll act as if you got disconnected from your lobby but not take you out of the game, it won't last forever though, but you can get a bit of time to yourself before it does if you're lucky. it is also 100% legal to do and cannot get you banned, hope that helps.

They signal they care, but they don't give a crap. Look at GTA5 Online for the last 10 years. Even at release, people were joining, dropping millions, and leaving.... no one was getting banned.
Silhouette May 16, 2024 @ 5:49pm
I’m still hoping they try to fix this in GTA6. :/

I’m not picking up the game unless the PC cheating gets addressed in some meaningful way.

Their Twitter Comment

Rockstar Tweet: We are aiming at hackers

-------------------------------------------------------------
years go by and hackers still rule the game and people are making fun of that comment,

Rockstar Games: we are aiming at hackers but we are not going to take the shot
Rockstar Games: we are aiming at hackers but we don't care for you pc maggots
Rockstar Games: we are aiming at hackers but we are to dam lazy to do go after them
------------------------------------------------------------

I'm sure GTA 6 is going to be in the same boat like the other two games that rockstar released hackers show up a week later kills everyone blows up their sells and such.
