🤣 So when normal players are in the same lobby as cheaters, all sorts of game issues can happen. Some are obvious and intentional, like turning a horse's butt into a Falcon 9 rocket from behind, which is kind of funny. Others are less obvious, like disappearing carcasses/skins, game errors, crashes, etc.
So the problem you have is probably caused by cheaters in your lobby. It's the reason why sometimes when you tried to get a new lobby, you just end up back in the same lobby and playing with the same bag of potatoes. That's why Rozeduke mentioned playing in a private lobby. Private lobbies are like snake oil; it's the cure to all your problems 😊
Yeah, that’s the option I chose. :(
If Rockstar/Take-Two could ever successfully mitigate the cheating I’d return to this game in a heartbeat!
Sadly, I can’t imagine that ever happening.
I think this is new cause I never seen this before and I have been in and out of private sessions just to do event's like connor egg and such.
Video proof https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=12rfLqAeh38
it is a side effect from someone in the same session as you using mods and cheating and it causes all kinds of bugs for innocent players just trying to enjoy the actual game.
It's almost certainly being caused by cheaters using mod menus. The cheaters may not even be doing this on purposes, Mod Menu's wreak all kinds of havoc on a game-client's code and operations; you're animal skins disappearing might be an unintended side-effect caused by another cheat-command they're running.
Or maybe you were being specifically targeted by cheaters to lose your animal skins, it's hard to say. o_O
Likely the only fix for this error would be to run the game in a private session where you can ensure no cheaters are present.
It's a shame Rockstar/Take-Two don't appear to do anything to effectively mitigate the rampant cheating in their PC online worlds; both GTA Online and RDO have a horrible cheating problem on PC. :(
I killed a cow elk and skinned it, then as I carried it to my horse, it disappeared. This happened FOUR TIMES within 2 minutes. Then I chased down and killed a fox and skinned it, the same thing happened. There were no players marked anywhere on my map. The skins were not on my horse or on the ground, they just despawned.
