Stranger mission issue

OK so I have started 2 stranger missions since I started. The first one never triggered as far as I can tell only the cut scene and the second one to find the Macfarlane's Cart did the cut scene but this is where it gets weird. The mission did not start and would not give me search area and such. I then went to sell some pelts and noticed all my merchant icons were up and mission. 15-20 minutes later the icons popped back for a second then it said I was starting a mission. Guessing it was the macfarlane one as it then teleported me back to the ranch. But as earlier it gave me no search area. I finally had to cancel out of that mission by starting and failing a telegram mission just to get out of the macfarlane mission and that worked.

But that said whats up with these stranger missions not starting or working properly??? Any solutions?

Have you tried starting those missions in a solo lobby? Try to disconnect from others and just play in a solo lobby to see if that solves your issues.

The game has issues when playing in a lobby with others who use cheat. The reason is the game syncs everything with everyone in the lobby. So if someone is cheating and spawning a bunch of things, that can cause issues.

Sometimes they are nearby towns and normal players don't even see the stuff being spawned...but they are there in everyone's games.
