Roles
OK so I just picked up the game this past week and been playing it. Still lots to learn but got a question.

It seems Tokens are earned in part from Role level ups and such. Can roles be changed later or are they fixed or how do roles work in this game. Just don't want to start down a wrong path only to find later I can't change it without starting all over again with a new character

The roles are abilities we can unlock in the game to make money or gold and stuff. It's like a business we buy. Moonshine makes a lot of money for those who are just interested in making money, so I recommend that, after the Trader role. Trader and Moonshine make lots of money. Bounty Hunter makes money and gold. Collector role gives the option to make money for those who like to treasure hunt, while other things are working in the background, like waiting for Trader or Moonshine to become ready.

For those who are new and just want to make the most money and gold, free-roam events (Blood Money, Jobs with orange icons) are really good -- they cost nothing to start and give gold and money with the same ratio as every other roles, based on how long the player spent in the mission. 😊

Payouts:
~ Under 2 minutes = 0.04 Gold
~ 2-6 minutes = 0.08 Gold
~ 6-10 minutes = 0.12 Gold
~ 10-12 minutes = 0.24 Gold
~ 12-15 minutes = 0.32 Gold
~ 15-20 minutes = 0.36 Gold
~ 20-25 minutes = 0.40 Gold
~ 25-30 minutes = 0.44 Gold

Lol...you're welcome😊

By the way, if you're buying the Bounty role (and this is also for new players looking to make the most money/gold for their time spent), the Bounty role won't be much faster than other methods to earn gold and money. You should buy it if you enjoy bounty hunting or just to have fun with your friends.

The Bounty role technically pays a little more cash compared to other missions like Bloodmoney/Stranger jobs in free roam, but gold rewards are all calculated the same, based on time spent in the mission.

And since it costs 15 gold bars to get a Bounty License, you'd have to subtract that first, before whatever gold you make is a profit. So for example, if a mission falls in the average 12 minutes time, you'll make .32 gold. You'd need to repeat that mission almost 47 times to get the 15-gold Bounty License cost back. For the Prestigious Bounty License, players get to sit in the mission for longer to earn more gold, and make a bit more cash. The Prestigious License missions are much more fun, but the idea of rewards are similar.

If a player wants to make the most money/gold and don't enjoy the process, these are the roles I recommend unlocking:

Trader role to make money. It's passive most of the time, besides hunting animals and giving them to your butler JB Cripps, then the delivery.

While the Trader role is working automatically in the background, play Bloodmoney/Stranger missions in free-roam to make money and gold.

Then unlock Moonshine. This business also only makes money and is mainly passive, and players collect money when they get to deliver the moonshine in about 45 minutes.

Then unlock the Collector role.
This role lets players sell random cards and treasure found all over the map, and it unlocks the ability to sell these things to potato face Madam Nazar (potato face because her prices are rip-offs🤣).

So while the Trader and Moonshine roles are active in the background, players can go around the map and collect treasures to sell or earn gold playing Bloodmoney/Stranger Missions (the roles are only active if the player is playing in free-roam).

All these roles were designed to complement each other.
Unfortunately on the PC platform, there are lots of potato face cheaters, so play in a solo lobby with your friends and have fun 😊

You can also search for "startup.meta"

This isn't mine. It's a short, 60 seconds video that explains it well. Have fun

Have you tried starting those missions in a solo lobby? Try to disconnect from others and just play in a solo lobby to see if that solves your issues.

The game has issues when playing in a lobby with others who use cheat. The reason is the game syncs everything with everyone in the lobby. So if someone is cheating and spawning a bunch of things, that can cause issues.

Sometimes they are nearby towns and normal players don't even see the stuff being spawned...but they are there in everyone's games.

Yeah because of the hackers that seem to fill most lobbies I do tend to kick myself from the server. Doesn't last forever but it does give some peace and quiet while I am alone without the hackers ruining things like they always tend to do

The solo lobby method above should let everyone play for as long as they want without issues. So for those who want to play alone or with friends and do Stranger missions/Bloodmoney, Trader, Moonshine, even Calls to Arms...you have options 😊 Enjoy your game

Yeah I have over 1000 hours in GTA5 so pretty versed in options I have as this is pretty much a western version of GTA5 from what I have been seeing so pretty much same solutions for the most part. I might give the video option a try though and see as it is annoying not being able to play missions for one reason or another and if this works then is a good solution .
