Why kill random players?
The first day of playing (2 days ago) 2 players seemed like they were in a party and were friendly towards me. We all waved and rode on our horses around for a bit then separated.

The next day a player rides directly at me and kills me while I was on my way to another town. After I respawned and called my horse, he circled back around and killed me within 10 seconds. After I asked for Feud he left the game (coward) lol

The next day a player runs into me with his horse and I tumble over. After a few paces away he stops, gets off his horse, turns around, and we basically do a stare down for about 5 seconds (honestly thought we'd get into a duel) I walk back to my horse after that and he guns me down as my back is turned before I could get on my horse.

I understand it's the Wild West but with the small amount of players I see when I play, is it actually more fun and rewarding for you to gun random players down and then take off? The fact that no one even gave me a fighting chance to me means that you instantly lose all respect as a player. At least make it a fun gunfight!

That's an interesting question. I believe certain players have discovered the thrill of intentionally colliding with others, leading to their demise. Personally, I've upgraded to a stronger horse to withstand such encounters. I recently switched to the Norfolk Roadster, and it almost feels like it's built like a tank. Whenever someone tries to play chicken, I consistently come out on top.

tbf, it is sometime hard to tell Players from NPCs when riding unless you glance to the minimap. NPCs you collide with will sometimes attack you even if you are walking/riding away afterwards .

On the other hand, some players just attack everything that moves in an open world setting where players can attack each other without flagging for PVP . These are usually but not always new/low lvl players from what I have been able to gather from various chats ect. That said, private/solo lobbies can mitigate most of that ( what your friends/ fellow lobby members do is on them tbf ).

Edit: In short, Public lobbies are a mess for PC players right now. Apart from folk randomly attacking others , Mod Menu users are causing all sorts of issues, and R*'s server/Peer 2 Peer / Network code for RDO needs a little love .

I didn't know there were different lobbies, where can I find this?

I don't have that much cash rn but I'll save up for a better horse! Sounds like a good idea.

I like you. You're a good guy. As you've likely discovered, earning gold can be quite the grind. I strongly suggest watching this video, as it contains the most crucial tip for gold accumulation. Best of luck!

For better or worse, you can’t “pick” which lobby you’re tossed into.

When you log on your placed into a randomly available peer-to-peer session.

If your unhappy with the current session you’re in, you can randomly join another session by hitting:

Esc -> Online -> Free Roam.

I hope this helps.
