Red dead online locked

I am new to RDO and RDR. For some reason the online version is locked. the menu selection is grayed out and “online” has a lock🔒 next to it .Any idea why this is happening? Please help..

I believe you have to buy them both, I may be wrong but I got RDO first then RDR2 and had to pay individually for them

You can only get RDO seperately, the full RDR2 Version includes Red Dead online. You can't buy the singleplayer without the multiplayer.
I'm afraid I can't help with the original problem, but that can't be the reason.
