Owning both RDO and RDR2. Achievements and time playing.

I know that they bother share the same files, but Steam sees them as different games in the Library, and Rockstar sees them as the same game, but regarding the Steam achievements, will I have to play each independently and not switch between the two inside the game?

For example, If I launch RDO and play it, and then switch to storymode, will any achievements I get still count? Will Steam see that I've moved to RDR2 and update achievements and play time accordingly?

In my Steam Client, for achievements I have listed

RDO Craft 25 pieces of Ammunition
RDO Reach rank 50
Complete Chapter 1

So my achievement list is a Mix of RDR2 and RDO on the Red Dead Redemption 2 page of my Steam Client.

The achievements for RDO specifically say "Red Dead Online" too

EX:

Non-Regulation Red Dead Online: Craft 25 pieces of Ammunition
Notorious Red Dead Online: Reach rank 50
Back in the mud Complete Chapter 1

But the RDR2 achievements, just lists the achievement, like "Back in the mud" above.

I only bought RDR2, because I knew it came with RDO in it, and it was on sale for the same price of RDO at the time. like $19.79 or so.

So I guess for me, Steam is only seeing RDR2/RDO as the same thing, instead of separate games, which is why my achievements appear in the same list together.

No. I got RDO first, and then RDR2 after. Steam didn't let me refund RDO, and I was afraid my Online character would reset if I just uninstalled RDO for RDR2, so I also just play RDR2 through RDO. The achievements for story mode do not carry over to your copy of RDR2 and neither does your play time.

I got RDO and I'm planning on getting RDR2 will the achievement from online be unlocked once I purchase RDR2 or Run the game? Thx!
