GTA online Private lobby
Hi so I heard this game has a problem with cheaters, are you able to host a private lobby for you and your friends to avoid the cheaters like in GTA online?

Nothing that's officially supported like in GTA Online sadly. :(

I believe there's ways to make "solo-sessions" but I've never tried them myself sorry.

-----[Edit]-----
Is this a feature you'd like to see added to the game? Let Rockstar know on their offical feedback site!

That works, however in GTA if you did this you had a solo lobby for a good amount of time before it was slowly filling up again. In RDO, you have a solo lobby for about 5 minutes before the lobby you're in is full again.

Like PB said, nothing official.

nexusmods.com/reddeadredemption2/mods/772

Idk if this link is going to work. If it's blocked type "RDO LOBBY MANAGER" in your favorite search engine. The website that offers this tool is on nexus mods. The tool creates a token ID by bypassing the loading sequence of the game on an older patch. This way you avoid the load up animation videos and get into game much quicker, a nice side effect because the code can't actively pair you to people using the same startup.meta hash. Make sure you read all the information on the webpage about the tool, it's pretty simple but can be a little daunting to other people.

The other options are to block specific ports on your router on 6672 (Rockstars servers) which will in most cases deny you online access if they are active before you load the game. This way is more complex and unreliable as you need to know your friends IP before you start blocking individual ports and doesn't always work correctly. Rockstar attempted a patch during the Naturalist DLC to revert the "smaller rooms" that were made as a side effect of that content release, and in doing so broke spawns and levels of players in sessions. They messed with it and now you can get anywhere between 10 to 20 players to a room, and at least 1 in 4 are cheating. There's injection tools that detect users with modified clients.

What this lobby manager tool does though, is isolate your IP so naturally you can't connect to anyone unless they have the same hash. Think of it as a plate before you put your meal on it. The foundation being built can only be shared if you have the same plate (no lady and the tramp memes from me, sorry). You set your own personal 'passcode' by typing a word or phrase into the menu box, it can be anything but it should be something obscure like most passwords. If your friend has this password, they can join you.

Before you jump the gun and consider to yourself, like all level-headed people would, "is this tool safe?" Yes it is; lots and lots of people across multiple social media platforms recommend this tool for PC online play. Don't just take my word for it though, try search "lobby manager" in the discussion searchbox above to find other peoples' opinions on it. The only downside to using it, is that you cannot actively join free mode events or start online story missions. To revert to public at any time to get access all you need to do is quit the game, set the tool to 'GO PUBLIC' and reload. Then you can access those parts of the Online game at your own pace. As others have mentioned, the other ways to gain solo sessions are only temporary.

This feature should have been in the game from the start OP but Rockstar don't see it a fair environment if you can't get spawn killed endlessly by explosions from cheaters. Hopefully it's something you can minimize if you choose to get the game. Many people swear by solo public as the only viable means to play, and one look at GTA Online is all the proof you need for that argument. Good luck, friend.

No. The problem with cheaters also depends on your region. Personally, even tho I don't have many hours, only found 3 cheaters. 2 were annoying griefers GTA style with flames, while the other was a kind guy asking if I needed anything. Most of the times you find a griefer it's easy to change session. If somehow you're blocked from it, just pull your ethernet cable for a few secs so you can at least click change session.
I usually play in less populated areas, having my camp in Big Valley, right under the Grizzlies, not that changes much in terms of finding cheaters in case a cheater intends to grief.

Another way to avoid cheaters and griefers is doing prestigious bountys and capitale missions every now and then. Way easier to get stuff done since they give you your own private server to do them.
