Game opens in background but not on screen - Help??

I have been able to successfully open this game twice - once when I first installed it and again after uninstalling and reinstalling after I tried for at least 30 minutes to open it without success. Every time I try, it brings up the Rockstar launcher, which loads for a bit, and then disappears. Steam acts like I am playing the game even though it never opens. If I open the task manager, it shows the launcher and game as running in the background. Closing the launcher window makes a window pop up saying that RDR2 Online is running and closing the launcher will close the game. If I close the launcher from the task manager, it claims it could not open the game and suggests I verify my files. I cannot close the game through Steam at all. I have tried verifying the files through Steam, restarting my PC, reinstalling the Rockstar launcher, moving the launcher/game files around, and scanning my harddrive for problems. Reinstalling the game made it open once and only once. When it does open, it runs perfectly well. I don't want to have to reinstall the game every time I want to play though. Is there any other way I could fix this?
