2. has plenty
3. i dont know since i own only the online ver. but im guessing not.
That said, if you did do that, your current online character would carry over, since it's the exact same game.
If you’re only interested in the online mode, and don’t want to play the single player campaign, then you can just purchase Red Dead Online separately.
To answer your questions:
1) RDR2 and RDO are two completely separate experiences. In RDR2 you follow the story of Arthur Morgan, in RDO you create your own custom cowpoke and follow a story where they’re wrongfully accused of murdering someone. Both games share a lot of similar activities and gameplay. RDR2 has a significantly more complex and involved story, and RDO has multiplayer.
2) I believe RDO has achievements.
3) I’m confused by this question. If you have a level 130 character in RDR2’s online mode, then yes, that level 130 character would appear in Red Dead Online, but RDO comes included in RDR2, so there’s no need to buy RDO separately if you already own RDR2.
Your single player character progression (Arthur Morgan) will not be transferred to the online mode.
4) No, you do not have to install RDR2 if you buy RDO separately. And if you already have RDR2 installed, you do not need to install RDO separately. You just need one version of the game installed to play the online mode.
5) Is it worth the $20? On PC, I would say no; it is not worth the $20.
Sadly, there’s a lot of cheaters on the PC version of the game. You’ll have a better experience playing through the single player campaign.
If you really want to play the multiplayer version of this game, I highly recommend picking it up on console; cheating isn’t a problem there.
That’s my opinion, others may feel differently.
Edit: lol, I just noticed these questions were originally asked in April 2021. Why was this old thread necro’ed? XD
