How to trample animals ?

I have the daily challenge to trample 5 animals but it doesn't seem to be working.

I found a turkey and my horse ran it over about 20 times but it just kept getting back up and moving.

I then found some small animals like rabbits and foxes but My horse missed every time. They would be right under me but no damage.

So I looked at a guide for it and they recommended to injure something like a deer and then run over it, it worked fine for the person in the guide yet when I tried my horse again did 0 damage to the animal even if I ran right over it.

Any advice on how to get this done please ?

I ran over a turkey so many times though, it cried in pain, stayed on the ground for a while then kept getting back up lol. Maybe it's just really bad luck though since I have accidentally done this a few times in the past.

Maybe try trampling a deer, they are bigger targets. When I have to do dailies' trampling I do go for the turkeys.

Ok thank you, I will just try to hunt some turkeys then :)

Go to shallow water, take out your fishing rod to spawn several fish, then get on your horse and run around in the water. I did this and it took about 30 seconds. You can even pick the fish up afterwards

The fish idea suggested above could work, another one is if you know ponds with frogs/toads, they won't even try to dodge you. Just got 3/5 for mine trampling them.

I will know I am getting good at trampling when I trample some rabbits.
