Yes, you cannot always believe a player's in-game screen name, which hackers/modders can change.

But if you click on the player list, choose their name from the list, and click on it, you can choose to view their Rockstar Social Club username - and that *is* their real identity. Block them using that menu and you shouldn't encounter them again (unless you're in a posse with people who haven't blocked them).

Also, you *can* (and should) report players via the Rockstar website, which hackers/modders *cannot* interfere with:

If you use that, a hacker/modder will not be able to intercept your report, and they will not know that you reported them. It also lets you upload video or screenshots if you have any, unlike the in-game mechanism.

i just change session not going to waste my time on those ...... But if you do they will get banned at some point if more gamers make a report on them :) as EN said go to the site and report them there also use the report ingame aswell ..

Yes it works in most blatant cases and harassment cases at least. It is hard to know cause you will get no Infos.

But yes some cheaters can change name and appearances sometimes.

the whole lobby was whipped out in gta5 online many times and 2 times in rdr online using my name so they can also do things like that but i dont get to upset because there is one 11 year old kiddo screwing up the gameplay or one that behaves like one .sometimes they use other playersnames to do things so be carefull who you report :)

Yesterday I was playing a event to protect the legendary animal and an idiot hacker ruined everything by blowing everyone up, now what's the fun in doing this? None, it's just a waste of time playing this game or playing any event in this game because of these jerks!

Reporting works, can't go to details cause forum rules. There is just too many script kiddies to report, they should close the damn holes in their code and add proper anticheat thou.

too much cheaters are in events and free roam! (PVP is almost impossible bc that.) just happened again - trade route - disconnect by cheaters.

every player has an unique ID, even they are behind VPN - ID and unusual activities are easily to detect - but noob companies can´t and won´t.

"I didn't even know" that the cheaters work for this company, but as often as the cheaters disturb the players, it has to be like that.

Take Two and Rstar don´t deserve players! 5 years of cheating in GTA Online and 2 years of cheating RDR2/ RDO nothing happens. the same people who are on lists are still running free. Everyone likes to pretend they didn't cause the problem.

To this day I miss the hint that there is so much cheating in the game, that cheaters are constantly in sessions / events that are constantly trying to disrupt. Who would pay money for this kind of disruption?

Come to me in sessions / events - and then 99% of the time cheaters appear. It should be easy for a company like this to detect cheaters. Just happened again: hides / furs "disappear" from the horse - "which wonder", cheaters again in session.

=> If you actively report cheaters (in game or in session) then you will probably end up on a cheater list - then cheaters also exchange these lists with other cheaters in order to more effectively disturb cheater reporters. ... or the cheater disconnect you/ crash your game etc..
