The windowed size during launch help please! SOLVED!
This is the only game that does this. This game is the only one that will launch in a windowed display! I know how to make it full screen, that's not the issue. The problem is having to deal with that every single time I launch this game. Why can't it remember to stay fullscreen like every other game in existence?

I can't be crazy to be annoyed by this feature in this game. Other than that, the repeating landscape screenshots as it's loading up is so boring. And yeah, that loading problem is cause my gaming pc slightly can't handle this game's demandings. But since this is the only game that whines about that, there's no reason for me to upgrade my pc for the time being.

It's just makes no sense that every other game remembers the Fullscreen setting when it's applied, yet this game is the only one that never keeps that setting on. Is there a way to make the game remember to open up full screen every single time or will I always have to reset that option whenever I get into a session?

Please be kind to me. I don't have Red Dead Redemption games, only this online part cause my big brother wanted to play this game with me.

Edit: I googled into my issue and it seems it's cause I don't have Red Dead Redemption 2. I guess it's like a base game thing maybe. I guess I'll have to deal with changing the settings every time I wanna play into going full screen or just get RDR2 at some point. I don't think it's a bad sign that the borderless window format and loading times taking several minutes just makes me wanna play this game even less.

Edit 2: I had to match my computer's settings and the game's settings both to 1920x1080 then full screen. The video memory was very high when I had the game on 1920x1080 with borderless window. Then video memory went down when I changed the borderless window to full screen! Spread the news! Don't suffer non-full screen! And I closed the game and launched it again after setting it on 1920x1080 full screen and it launched FULL SCREEN! Perfect! Spread the news!

open your rockstar game launcher > settings > red dead redemption 2 or red dead online,
and add "-fullscreen" to the startup command line (without the opening and closing "s) ,

should work,
good luck

I seriously went through the rockstar game launcher's settings and couldn't find any option to make the game go fullscreen. I even went through Steam on it, and I couldn't find any "startup command line". I'm so sorry. I'm not good with technology like this kinda thing. I understand if it's annoying to read that I failed but I swear it isn't there. Thank you for your kindness!

i double checked for you:
start your game,
look for the orange R icon at the clock/time in your taskbar,
right click > settings.
click Red dead online and look right for the "Launch arguments"

but you can't change settings while the game is running,
so close the game,
go to the folder in: Program Files\Rockstar Games\Launcher,
start the Launcher.exe
and enter the settings there.

I think I did all those things. I found the "Launch arguments". But the Launcher.exe is old. It says Launcher.exe.old

So I don't understand that. The launcher got updates or something? I don't know. But right clicking on Launcher.exe.old doesn't give me any settings. I'm so sorry I'm not understanding this. I'm a visual learner at best so images might help me understand it more. But I understand if sharing images of computer files can be uncomfortable and you don't have to if you're uncomfortable. I just want my game to stay full screen forever. I'm so sorry! You're so kind, I'm very grateful you're trying to help me so much!

no worries,
there are still other options:
1: look in your Start Bar programs, there might be a folder with the rockstar launcher as a Shortcut.
2: reinstall your social club with the latest version, this will hopefully give you the option to create a desktop shortcut after installation, or it will add the shortcut in your start bar,
so google > rockstar social club download,
top hits should be the official rockstar sites: socialclub.rockstar and/or rockstargames.

Note: for option 2, you might need to login again with the social club launcher, so make sure you have your login ready etc, or you'll have to go through the hastle again to change your password with those "i forgot my password" things on the rockstar site.

besides that, i'm out of ideas atm :p
perhaps your brother can help you out if he lives in the same house, or that he can help you over steam chat/voice chat or discord etc.

Thanks! I'll try out this method much later since it's 2:36am right now. I'm tired, I should try to sleep a bit during the night. It's good I know my rockstar social club login. I'm very glad I wasn't crazy about the game launching in non-full screen was a problem to anyone else! And I'm glad there's a few ways that should fix it. I'll reply to you again here after I try this method and let you know if it works or not.

If nothing works, maybe my big brother can solve it for me cause he has more knowledge than me about these technology/computer files/game issues. I just didn't ask him first and instead made this post cause he's a busy young man with his job even though he does manage to squeeze in gaming after work some days. I just didn't wanna be a bother since he's so busy.

You're so kind! Thank you in advance for all this help! Maybe we'll cross paths in Red Dead Online at some point or maybe never. It's just nice to know there's some kind souls on this game's forum for a violent wild west game!

Your final solution didn't seem to change rockstar social club's mind at all. For good measure I uninstalled both the rockstar social club and rockstar launcher. I think when I reinstalled them they might have updated. Again, I'm so very grateful for all your kindness!

There's a quick way to enter full screen mode by pressing Alt + Return. Some smart person showed me 😊
