Incompatible Assets

Please, somebody help. I've tryied opening ports on my pc, checking for updates, verifying files, restarting PC, scanning for viruses, please help, whenever I try to join a friend, or a friend tries to join me, it says "Unable to join player, incompatible assets" or whatever. It is incessant, and I cant join, nobody can join me, but everyone else can join eachother. So its a me issue. Edit: just reinstalled my game, fixed

Then you are new to computer if you've got no idea what that meant... "scanning for viruses" av stands for antivirus and has for decades.. anyway, the issue is that your game isn't upto date or is missing something.

either you or the people you are trying to join have out dated versions or different versions of the game or something, maybe a modded version of the game??? can't play with modded versions of the game. Try a fresh reinstall

Have you tried restarting your modem?

maybe your friends play on console and you on PC? Apparently this game does not support cross-platform gaming.

Before the "call to arms" update the game worked normally but now, strangely whenever I'm playing there are no people in the same session, the list of players is always empty and whenever I try to join a friend, this message "Incompatible Assets" appears...

oh. I didnt know that was an abbreviation for it. I have malware bytes, though I havent updated it. RDR2 is most definitely updated

No, I've been able to play with them (we're all on PC) for like, 170 hours. I've never had this issue before

malwarebytes isn't an antivirus or supposed to be used for scanning for viruses.. it's an antimalware... it's supposed to be used inconjunction with an antivirus like "Bitdefender" the worlds number 1 rated antivirus... or norton.

yes malwarebytes advertises it's self as an antivirus but it's meant to be used in conjunction with a dedicated proper antivirus..
