Perfect bear pelt

Anybody willing to help me get one? I'm 24 hours in trying to find one and I only get poor pelt. I use high velocity rounds ,normal or express ...same thing. All bears spawn with 1 star. Maybe somebody knows a trick :(

i think you are just unlucky. btw u need to kill grizzly bear if u want bear coat from gus. use sniper with high velocty and kill it with headshoot

I did that. I think I killed 80+ glizzlies and the best had 2 stars :( .... I used high velocity and head shot but its pointless when at spawn they have 1-2 stars :( ....I want that nice coat badly . Only funny thing is they spawn around Harriet and she keeps commenting about the murders lol

Also yesterday trying to find a perfect 3 stars Bear I got killed and also lost the legendary bear .... :(

lol thank you ,I got killed by the legendary bear in the area while trying to get a perfect pelt. I lost the jerk after I got killed.... the situation was tragic in the forest.

IIRC, High Velocity can travel through targets, so it may well be ruining your bear before it even hits the floor. I haven't tested this so I can't say with certainty, however this is where I took down my perfect bear with a single express round:

3* grizzly hunting[i.postimg.cc]

The Blue "X" is where I ride to, to hunt the grizzlies, maybe 60-75% of the time, one spawns across the river in the red area I crudely marked out, if there is no grizzly, or only a 1 or 2* grizzly, I ride up the path (marked out in orange) up to the road, turn around and ride back down - this re-triggers the RNG spawn for a grizzly. Wash, rinse and repeat until you get your 3* grizzly pelt!

NB: This particular area I marked out has a very high number of spawn locations for grizzlies - possible the densest area in the game, which is why the spawn rate for grizzlies in the area are very high. I have ridden with a few players and helped them all find the 3* using this method.
