If you create new rockstar account it should be possible without any problem.

I own Ultimate Edition on the R* launcher and i just bought the standalone to launch via Steam. It has now removed the Ultimate Edition entirely from my R* launcher and says "play on Steam" and wants me to buy the full game on Steam. I've been on a R* ticket for a while this morning trying to fix it with no luck.

So you will need to play with the same character on steam, if you own the game on rockstar launcher from before? I actually want to have the same character on both :P

Why the hell do they do that? You need to get it back. I was also planning to do the same.

Btw why do you want it on steam when there are no achievements?..

So why would you buy it again unless you want to start fresh..? It would be too much hassle to start over now with that small ammount of gold that you cant get.

Trying to. I'm talking to R* support on a ticket now trying to sort it out.

You still have to run this game via rockstar launcher even if you own it on steam.. its like GTA.
You should be able to use your character but rockstar will have to fix problems that they have atm.. unless its on pupose & only for people to start fresh.

R* couldn't solve it but insisted that i create a new email account, then create a new Windows account and log in using that. I couldn't be bothered. BUT i did solve the issue, i installed the R* full game first, then when installing the Steam standalone i told it to install in the same place, as it uses the same files anyway it just accepted it was already installed. I can now launch either independently without issue.

Nice :) U didn't need to DL files then? Thats what i wanted in the first place. But really bad from R*.
I'll probobly just stick with the full game, if that works as intended.
