I actually collected them early game prior to getting that quest, and when I put them into the early game hive they turned into normal bees! Now that I got the actual quest, there's no new bee to be caught in that area.
I even tried placing a bee hive where the circle for the quest indicated and collecting honey that way but it's not working.
Nevermind, I just had to walk up to the tree and hit "collect"
i did finally have the bee dream and it still never gave me the hive thing. but eventually grandpa finally had the dialogue for it. luckily i had enough bees for one hive.
i also did not put the hive in the right area but it worked and completed just fine.
I put the hive in the 2nd garden plot area over by the fence, that goes out to the merchants cart. Then planted a bunch of different flowers around it in a pattern type design. i seem to get honey just fine. ik it produces bees over time so i collect the extra bees. just got to remember to leave at least 50 or so in the hive.
Also it would be kind of cool if different flowers made the m produce different types of honey
Glad you were able to get that figured out :)
oh that's cool about the forest bees. i hope i get the quest soon, since i did finally get the hive an all lol
ty for letting me know this
