What is the method for this, exactly?
Sorry but the herding is just as frustrating. What the other people said about having a rope to lead them home. and selling them through the sign post would be so much better, the mechanic as it is now is way more labor intensive than it needs to be.
I also like the idea of a rope to lead the animal(s).
Also, can there be a way for your mount to not run away from you the moment you hop off? maybe craft a saddle that makes it your official mount and it just stays put like a good boy? can use things like carrots or animal feed to feed it out in the wild if you have to stay out for a while or something.
In another game that I played you could give the mount commands like stay or follow.
1. Ropes to lead multiple animals back to the farm at once.
-the dog herding is not viable, just doesn't work right.
-petting animals doesn't scale. you can only manage one animal at a time. and once you get super far out it's just not fun.
2. The mount system. Just give us a saddle and our mount follows whenever we dismount.
I think these are two simple changes that would make a huge positive impact on playability mid-late game.
EDIT: After the latest patch point 1 is solved. Thank you magic flute!!
