Not getting eggs?
I'm sure I am doing something super simple wrong, but I collected the chickens, made them perches, and have not been getting eggs. They have hay out too. What am I possibly missing or doing wrong that is preventing me from getting any eggs? Thanks in advance!

You need to space out the nests. They fail to work when close to each other.

Wow. So basically the exact opposite of the real world. Who would have guessed. Cheers for the answer, as I too wasn't sure what was going on with the chickens.

Yeah. I think it's a bug. They weren't using them and I couldn't even interact with some of the nests myself till I broke the ones I could interact with. After spreading them out they used them.

Can you screenshot how yours are setup?
Mine work "sometimes", other times the nearby nests will be ignored. So I probably need to move mine around.

Sure. They seem to need to have at least 2 or more nest spaces between the nests. Only 4 have eggs over their heads so 2 aren't used but I tossed them onto the 4 there to show the distance. A couple were sitting on the others before that.

They don't produce eggs every day as with other farming games - from observation, they wander around the pen for a day or two, sit on the perches the next and you get eggs the day after that.

There is an actual bug where they wont use the nest even if wanting to lay eggs(egg over their head). Even a dev answered in one of these threads that tossing a hen with an egg symbol near a nest should have it sit on the nest. They don't and I couldn't even break the nest that was being ignored till I broke the one next to it. I spread them all out and the hens all sat on the new nests. Something about them being to close makes the game not recognize their existence. Like I sad even I as a player couldn't interact because the game thought there was no nest till I broke the one it did recognize and spread them out.

Yep... I just got that one and was scratching my head for ages, because I haven't moved the nests, they worked fine before. The only fix I could find was to repeatedly throw the chickens toward the nest until they sat on it - quite irritating to do though.

I didn't know this one and I believe this was my problem. Everything else was right I just hadn't waited long enough. Thank you!

I had no idea about this! Mine are right next to each other with no spaces and I was having to throw my chickens onto them directly. I will be trying to move them apart now. Thank you!
