2. So classes are locked but each class has 3 subclasses with different abilities. These can be switched freely but must be leveled separately.
3. Well you can do quite a bit, climb and explore, glide/fly places do some cooking etc. But if you mean fighting wise? Yeah it's going to be sword attacks/skills or magically shooting and casting .
4. There is a decent amount of content (though not a ton), quite a large map, collectibles that you can turn in for more stamina, side quests, repeatable hunts, beside the main story as well as world events that spawn periodically. Now once you reach max level currently there's only respawning Invasion events, the World Boss and an overland dungeon.
I would not call you a troll. I'd call you a realist.
I read all the same things you just said and I have a feeling, that that's all we can expect.
I'm about to try for the first time in a few.
Seems like a refund, might actually be in the near future.
33.99 CAD is ridiculous, if all I've heard about and anticipated, is all I get.
If you're sceptical about purchasing, based on the comments here, I would wait for a sale, or just "try" it and return it before reaching the refund cap.
Jiro makes valid points. I would call you the troll, for not validating, valid points, with no support on your part, I might add. If Jiro is a troll, please, by all means, back that up.
I mean does he make valid points? I will preface this by saying that your position of "'try the game and refund" is very sensible and I agree with that statement. Like a lot of games whether the gameplay is something you'll enjoy is hard for other people to determine for you. Now Jiro has the reputation of Troll because he basically goes into threads and rants about how awful the game is, and it's very unlikely that he's actually played it. Seriously even before the game released he would rave about how it's horrible because it's not open world pvp and that any MMO without that isn't a "real MMO" but in this case his statements are largely inaccurate
1. First part is correct, the second part is basically a lie. The sub classes certainly play differently, especially for Essence Mages where it even alters what their base attack is like. Blade master sub-classes are more similar since your base attack (swinging your swords) is the same but your cadences (which are powers that you activate by making 3 strike combos essentially) are different as are the Power Strikes (your special moves that cost your equivalent of mana). Each has some overlap but also unique abilities.
2. Again first part is correct and the second part is what makes me believe he hasn't played the game. Switching subclasses is SUPER EASY. Like you can change it anytime from your menu in game. Even with the scant tutorial the game explicitly tells you this. They just level separately but your lower level sub-classes get double XP until they catch up to your highest level.
3. Notice that he's only talking about Blade Master but either way he's misrepresenting the game. The "timer" is maybe a second long and tracked separately for each sword so if you're making powerful alternating strikes, or blocking between blows you won't have an issue. Also larger, faster sword arcs do more damage as well. The system basically punishes you for trying to rapidly tickle enemies to death like some early VR sword games let you do as well as swinging wildly. Again Cadences encourage you to keep track of how many swings you're taking and in which direction with skilled players lining things up for powerful combination with Power Strikes. Also he neglects Power strikes again . . . almost like he doesn't know they exist. Now there are abilities that are currently bugged and the Blade Master tank suffers the most from this (basically they can't generate shield HP as well as they're supposed to). It's still VERY viable though (it's my main) but that'd be an example of a valid critique from someone who's played the game.
4. Pulls "10 hours of content" out of nowhere. Like there have been people that have got to max level in 2 days but you best believe they took longer than 10 hours, more like 40 hrs playing straight with dedicated power leveling. I've sunk over 50 hrs and my main sub-class is level 34 or so. The map being "minimal" is basically inaccurate the server limits are too small in my opinion but I rarely want to party up with more than 1-2 people so I personally don't mind. (Again partial point but buried beneath false statements). "Half of endgame being broken" is again an overstatement though Defend world events (which includes parts of Invasions) are a bit twitchy. But I will agree that the endgame is rather scant at the moment so if you're preferred method of playing an MMO is to basically ignore the leveling process and the main pull factor for you is Endgame content, then yeah this definitely isn't going to scratch that each in it's current state. You'll still probably get more play time than similarly priced VR games out of it though.
Jiro also makes posts talking about the player count being low on other platforms despite there not being an accurate means of measuring that. So yeah people call him a troll because he's obviously biased against this game and has been from before launch (I believe his grievance started with how he was treated in the games discord) and makes constant claims of fact with little actual substance behind it in an effort to increase negative perception.
must be new to this forum. Give it time lol.
to jiro BS
1 yes there 2 classes and and I guess healing and dps is unnoticeable differences to a troll who dont understand the game very well and then tanking, now tanking is OP as hell on EM and can be done as BM if you have good gear and understand how its done but is not as good as EM ( my main is BM )
2. the game plays classes like wow not ffx14 so yes if you want both a EM and BM you need to make 2 character ,you dont have to remake you character and reset each time ( this is just him being dumb) and yes you can freely switch sub classes ( as I said he a dumb troll who dont know the game or understand it)
3. sadly no summoner class yet maybe later a 3rd class is coming ( cyber ninja ) the sword fighting is fun ( yes there is a waiting for a gleam to appear on normal hits but if you use and wave in ability's this will not be a super bad problem ) you can block and dodge/ duck attacks in real time if you like too its a great work out. using a attacking with a ability is tied to rage or mana for EM ( aka think of a warrior/mage in wow )
Em has gun base weapons that shoot/beam with spells that can drop rocks , dot, and put shields up. as for OJ you can make this in game and drink it and watch other players fight mobs ( pvp later )
4. yes there a good bit to do if it took this ♥♥♥♥ head 10 hrs to hit max lvl he used a old bug that was fixed and never lvl his off specs , let alone played both classes or get good gear ( aka fighting the world boss and invasion events. And if he waiting in the city for events then he not working on his skills or farming food to even be able to help out other then leach off others hard work at the invasion events and world boss.
And yes invasion events can be a bit bugy but most the time its some troll like him pulling mobs into the 2ed or 3rd part of the defend invasion event and failing it for everyone ( best thing to do is take there name and report them to the staff )
In the end I think I have the most time of any player in game ( I have no life the ♥♥♥♥ out of this game and still play it each day helping others and teaching new players stuff.
Just today we hosted a world boss server event where 60+ players was there kicking the bosses ass for the mats you need to make there legendary weapons. 95% of the player base are super nice and helpful and then there players like ...well jiro
Keanucleaves is my ING feel free to hit me up if you need a hand or info with something
1. Blade master uses swords only . Essence mage uses blasters only
2. Each of the 2 classes I mentioned has 3 sub classes tank dps and support which u can switch to at your will but they have separate progression . U can't switch from em to bm main class tho those r separate characters meaning logging off as one and in as the other
3. Attack with weapons and powers aka godstone abilities. Climb fly gather craft cook follow story and side quests, do world events and world boss , farm drops, make friends be social
4. End game no not at the moment . But mission wise it's mostly laid out well
I mean if you consider answering questions and correcting misstatements to be shilling, then I guess you have a point. Fun Fact: servers support over 100 people, not 70. Like I said I agree that it should be higher but once again you can't even bother to be accurate even when you have a point.
But also if you read the post of mine you quoted you'd understand that it's almost completely objective
1. 100% objective. I am describing the classes and how they literally work (and pointing out how you were factually wrong)
2. 100% Objective. Pointing out that you are again wrong and that you likely haven't played the game if you honestly didn't know if you could switch subclasses (which if you were actually honest you would probably note as a good design choice given the limited main class options).
3. I'd say about 90% objective. The first part is literally describing Blade Master gameplay and the last bit when I mention Tank Blade Master being viable *could* be argued as a subjective statement. But I am literally calling out an issue in the game here (some powers are bugged and it impacts the effectiveness of a sub class) sooo not a particularly good shill I guess.
4. This one is mostly subjective (apart from the first few lines which is 100% objectively pointing out that 10 hours of gameplay is blatantly false). However, whether something has 'a lot of content" is subjective. You'll see people complaining about games with 20-30 hour campaigns "lacking in content" or complaining that they "only" got 100 hrs out of a $30 dollar game (I'm not talking about Zenith in particular here but if you've been on the steam forums for other games you'll have seen this before).
So yeah not sure how you read that response as not mostly objective. Unless you genuinely believe that objective = agrees with your opinion. Again you made it clear since before the games release that it wasn't something you'd enjoy. Which is fine. Making inaccurate claims in an attempt to make your subjective stance seem objective is not though.
