For the last week and a half I haven't put out any updates because I have been working on upgrading the game world to be much larger than it is currently.

I finally got a larger map that we can use. Everything is operational. The old map was 4,000 x 4,000, this new map is 36,000 x 36,000. That ends up being 80 times more area than our old map? I scaled the dinosaurs, nests, and eggs to 50% size to make the dinosaurs take up less space too. I'll adjust the plant and tree sizes as I work on biomes. Overall we should have a good sized area to play in.

Now I need to add some biomes to it, some dinosaur and nests, and get a glitch worked out that has to do with shadows flickering on the terrain then I'll be ready to put out the update.

Thank you all for your patience.

After three weeks of working on making the first large map for the game I managed to get the game's system memory usage under 8gb, with room to spare. I was also able to make the map larger than the expected 36,000 x 36,000 map. I was able to get a 64,000 x 64,000 map working. That's approximately 256 times more space than what the game currently has. I think the game will have plenty of room for the addition of new content and features now. This new terrain is still a work in progress. I spent most of the last three weeks working on the technical aspects of the new map and not the artistic side. I'm ready for a change of pace for a little while so I want to get the new map released before the end of this upcoming week and then I'll make improvements to it over time.

Dinosaurs now earn experience from kills and this experience is used to gain damage, health, and speed bonuses. There is currently no cap on how many bonuses you can gain.

Dinosaur progress is now saved on a per-species basis so you can continue where you left off in another play session. Perma-death still applies to all dinosaurs.

Dinosaur growth stages are now unlockable through gameplay so when you make a new dinosaur of a species that has growth stages unlocked that dinosaur will be advanced to the chosen growth stage. This feature costs evolution points to use.

Is this still active or the current discord server?

Ok, which is better to post - steam or discord?
Exhibyte  [developer] Jan 31 @ 11:20am
Steam is fine for bug reports and suggestions, Discord for just chatting or whatever else you might want to talk about.

Really doesn't matter that much other than I've been checking steam a lot more than discord recently.
