Hello,
my game ceeps crashing on startup.
steam. play. it opens the window and loads to 100%. one second later it crashes and puts me right to the desktop.

xeon 1230v3 8x 3,7ghz
ROG 1060 - overclocked (tried default)
8gb 1600 ddr3
tried ssd and harddrive
nearly latest drivers (driver booster) but no hd audio driver - i use the default windows one
other games are fine.
Benchmarks are fine
nothing crashes but the isle...
i have no idea anymore

Can you attach files here? If you can't attach them here you could get on the game's Discord or send them to support@exhibyte.com
I need you to send me the latest log file for the game. It'll be located in the game's Steam folder directory under SteamApps/Common/Isles of Pangaea/Isles of Pangaea_Data
The file name will be something along the lines of "LogsBuildLog 02-15-2022 9-32 AM" with the latest time and date that you ran the game.
Also, can you send me the options.ini file, so I can see what options you have in there? Its in the same directory should be right under the log files

One quick thing you could try to see if you can get things working is to open the options.ini file and change everywhere it says "Ultra" to instead "Low". If that works the game isn't going to look very good but maybe you'll be able to try to raise up some settings.

Then make sure you save the options file and then start up the game.

I tried to manipulate the options.ini many times. ultra to medium...medium to low.

Thanks for those files. Nothing seems out of the ordinary with them. There's a few things you could try that I can think of.
1. Try to replace the StartingMap line of Options.ini with the following line, it should start the game on the desert map which has less RAM overhead because of less vegetation.
StartingMap-Bar=6.0000
2. Delete the options.ini file and try to run the game again.
3. Navigate to your User App Data folders, LocalLow, Exhibyte, IslesOfPangaea, then delete everything in there and then start the game.
4. Maybe you don't have enough free RAM to run the game, try closing everything other than your core programs/services and try to run the game again. The game isn't optimized yet and its possible that its going over what you have free and making your system RAM go higher than what it can handle.

1. StartingMap-Bar=6.0000 and it worked just fine in the menu
2. i deleted the options file for a clean run and replaced StartingMap-Bar=6.0000 and the other graphic settings.
3. took the time to watch how much ram is needed. its about 70% at the time. ill do more tests tomorrow!

I just released an update that slightly improved the memory usage of the game so now you may be able to play more maps, except for the jungle, the jungle uses more RAM than the other maps.

So, the health bars and information that hovers above animals only shows up sometimes. Is there a certain key or something to press that makes it turn on permanently?

F1 toggles them on/off. You also need to be within a certain distance for them to be visible.
