Dashing should be directional not backwards.
I like your game so far, but one thing that really bugs is Dashing backwards instead of the direction you are facing. Maybe make an option to switch it or another functionality to dash forward using a separate button.

Maybe... you should play Castlevania at least one time on your life, buddy, it's fun

other games having trash controls too doesn't justify dashing in the wrong direction
