Final boss is really bad
I don't know why, at the last boss you decide to remove all healing abilities and now you have to do a 3 phase boss hitless because you can't heal and because is a bullet hell with bad hitboxes all over the place. I can't understand how anyone doing this game thought it was a good idea. It just kills the game for me. Stupid decision, stupid final boss.

This has to be the stupidest final boss design.
But it is normal for the worst metroid vania ever made to have the worst last boss.

Skill Issue :steammocking: on my case after a few attempts was easy to make hitless the first 2 phases, even more when you notice all the hints the boss gives you to dodge the attacks, so... yeah, skill issue (as an advice, try to notice all the hints and stop your attack to dodge, at least the first time noticing the hints, after that you are going to be used to it and attack while dodge, really, is not that hard)... pretty late btw

According to a comment the dev left on my review, there was supposed to be a patch in the first weeks of August that would rebalance some of the difficulty spikes (including the final boss) and add proper fast travel, but it looks like this game has basically been abandoned. Unfortunate, because I quite enjoyed it up to the last few boss slogs.

Well its not helping to sell the game to anyone who wants a fun metroidvania like sotn when you hear the boss is an unejoyable brick wall. Ashame cause this game looks amazing. I been playing games since space invaders and I'm really past the point of struggling with games like battletoads cause that's all I had.

I just want something fun like sotn, super metroid, or even axiom verge which isn't even that hard. I don't want more ori's and rainworlds... I was contemplating this game for a long time cause of the art style. But I don't want to get locked out of end game, why would I wanna buy that?

As I said, is not that hard, before the boss battle you could watch a video and analyze the movements, you are going to notice how the boss make sounds or movements and which attack means he is going to use, and the attacks are not hard to dodge neither, believe me, My skills are pretty average in general, so if I say that is not that hard, then... it's because is not

I really don't want to watch a spoiler video but I'm tempted to just buy it anyway for the amazing art.

Is this rain world hard? I frickin hate rain world... Overpriced and you get nowhere after 20 plus hours.

As someone who also played the Slug Cats game... nah, I should say that Rain world is worse, I never understood that game (I like it tho) meanwhile 9 years of shadows is more a metroidvania on a traditional way, and no, is not that hard

Ok so if I beat games like dk country how hard is this in comparison?

Well I decided to get it anyway, reviews are all mixed up, some saying its super easy and short, others saying its got collectables and good replay, and difficult. Don't know what to think about this game other than it looks beautiful so just gonna go with that.

Well... the last time I played DK Country... was years ago, and as a kid I was worse playing videogames than now, but if I remember... I wouldn't say that the sections of the 9 years of shadows are that hard compared to DK Country, I can't really make a comparison since there are different type of games, but 9 Years of Shadows is not that hard neither
